Pitch is starting to offer some assistance as well.

The Ponting dismissal is a good example of that not taking a wicket on day 2 or 3 but today it gets the rough and kicks a bit and gets the glove.

I thought Lyon bowled reasonably well.

Bowl okay, but simply not a danger like Herath is. Will be interesting to see how Lyon goes in the 4th innings

I think seeing how he goes tomorrow will be a fair assesment of where he is at.

The pitch on day's two and three was a treat to bat on and most batsmen got themselves out more so than any bowler getting them out.

The pitch is a road, you cant judge Lyon on this. Herath gets a lot more top spin, different bowlers.

My comments are more of a compliment of Herath (12 wickets in the series - this is his second test), rather than a critisism of Lyon.

Lyon bowling around the wicket didn't help. Looked ineffective but hope they stick with him.

Marsh not referring was just a brain fart.

Hughes playing with fire at the death. He has saved his hide I reckon....Uzi feeling rough right now!

Yep absolute shocker,

miles away from the bat but hit the pad, given out. Hughes stood there and walked off....would have easily been given not out if referred.

Thats what i thought he might have thought but even that wouldn't have been out. Hope the media ask Marsh to explain why he didn't refer otherwise it will remain one of the great mysterys of test cricket.
The other question that must be asked is "How the hell did the Sri Lankan fieldsman all appeal so confidently when it was SO SO SO NOT OUT" ?. And how in the hell does a TEST umpire that is on a so called ELITE panel make such a BLUNDER? And again, How does Marsh NOT refer it?

Simply has to be one of the Strangest dismissels in test cricket CONSIDERING the DRS is in use which was originally brought in to to at least get rid of the HOWLER decisions given by the umps which this one was.
May as well just scrap the DRS all together after that.
Quite simply Mind Boggling that incident.

Well one Hughesy, he has copped a bit of stick but now he deserves some praise. Australia would have been in serious trouble if Hughes had gotten out, he needs to go on and bat until lunch at a minimum if we are to save the match. Couple of quick wickets and we are in strife this morning

Lyon would be more dangerous if we had an intimidating bowler coming on from the other end that could hit good area's, when they can pick the odd boundary and consistent singles off of our strike bowlers they don't require any urgency for runs.

The only conceivable answer is that he forgot about the review system being in place.

Marsh has said that he believed he was out. Felt something hit his glove - it was glove hitting pad - saw the reaction and the finger, and walked.

Fair enough. Didn't look good though, what's the bet next time he'll be as out as it gets and will refer it just in case...

I'm a bit nervous for Oz cricket today - Sri Lanka are paying 7 bucks for the win, but if two wickets go down early we will be in some strife. Lucky we've got our two most solid, reliable batsmen at the crease in Hughes and Pup...

Oz deserves a series victory here. Knuckle down boys, 18 months is a bloody long time!

Why quote me, you think I am wrong? Clearly not worthy of being dropped but seriously a brain fade by him in the current situation.

Also, if these ******* Sri lankans keep appealing when the ball pitches outside leg, I'll do my nut!

Did I say you were wrong? I was simply adding the score as you hadn't. Current score for those who don't have access is 4 for 244
