Nope, don't buy that. He has done it too many times for it to be accidental. He runs down the wicket like it's an obvious out, and he should be reported for excessive and unecessary appealing. If a bowler ran around like Prior does, he'd get reported.

I don't think there was a lot wrong with the choice of shot, he just didn't play it well. Had he got over the top of it and kept it down he'd have been fine.

I don't think anyone's "bagged" him have they? We're just making the point he doesn't go onto the big scores and may be better suited down the order. That's not bagging, it's constructive.

I've made the point he has done a great job, but the reality is if we had guys like Hayden and Langer still around the place, Watto would not be opening. I really don't think thats "bagging" him.

I would love to see him bat lower. I think no 4 would be good and push clarke to 5 or 6. Unfortunately we have to find another opener. Can khawaja open or do we bring back kat or bring in another kid like maddinson.

I think his innings showed enough positives to say Ricky, time to bat down the list and give this kid a huge chance

And Haddin hasn't made any ordinary appeals this series? Lets face it, all wicket keepers are terrible for it, I generally find it a waste of time for the captain to ask the keeper if something should be referred, as they tend to think everything is a definite out.

Sorry but clarke is just not no4 material. He made most of his runs at 5 so put him back there. His dismissal today was terrible once again, he is so far out of form its sad to watch

quite simply at the moment his form is so horrid he is not Test material let alone 4 or 5, needs to go back to grass roots and get some confidence/form back (now on saying that he will get runs in the 2nd dig)

what I find quite amusing is that 2 of Australias best cricketers in the last couple of years have had all this art work done and their cricket is now crap, perhaps to much weight in the arms being carried

You can talk about Haddin, I'm talking about Prior. I've watched him for 5 Tests now and have enough ... He's a cheat.

Prior is a knob. Appeals at everything and is wrong nearly every time. Cost the poms a heap of referrals early on in series. Funny how strauss doesnt even waste him time consulting him anymore.

Where are all the Clarke lovers gone........

Once the selectors realise he is a pea hearted front running dud the sooner the better for Australian cricket.

Khawaja proved it today inject some youth into the side.

Was very happy with the way Hughes and Watto went about it on a pitch and weather that was doing a bit. Both really need to work on turning starts into big ones but the basis is there imho.

Yes. When I started playing, one of my early captains had this quaint custom of when an opposition captain came in to bat, he'd hold up play and say "clap the captain", and the players would have to offer polite applause. I never did.

Still happens these days, like having a beer with the opposition after a game, again probably something you never did...

One of my early skippers, Merv Kowald, used to ask us to applaud the captain.
Being a young fella, I applauded the skipper when he was dismissed ;)
Good skipper Merv, old fashioned and taught me a bit.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.
