Dreadful. Loose stroke-play, beginning with Hughes at the top.

Bowling didn't look threatening at all. Too short, and too much pitched on middle/leg.

And this is why I have S.O.L. about the cricket tonight. I like the Aussies to win but don't care if we lose, so long as I see good quality cricket, and a fair dinkum contest.

The Aussie bowlers, especially Johnson, were obviously paying no attention at all to what the Pommy bowlers were doing, and that's what makes me angry. These guys are supposed to be professionals.

This is the one-day - 20/20 mentality that has eaten into the Australian psyche like a cancer. Address the issue NOW, or else our Test team will be a laughing stock for many years to come.

I couldn't believe some of the cr#p I was reading from the Aussies leading into this test.
MJ - boasting about being in there face
Siddle - pumping up how tough he is and Watto - laughing at Jimmy Anderson.
FFS they won one game and started beating their chests and obviously not preparing for an Ashes decider.

I can not belive a professional sportsman like Mitch Johnson can have such a gap between his best and worst, and all in the space of a week! It is a disgrace! And the commentator say... ohh Mitchell hasn't got his rhythm today, the ball is not swinging for Mitchell today FFS - put it on a spot then and build some pressure!

As for the batting... soft comes to mind. Hope to see some changes for Sydney. Hughes, Smith out.
Ponting has to swallow his pride and go down the order, Khawaja and hopefully Ferg in.
Some interesting times ahead for Australian cricket.

rigged. the batting was worse than what I used to bowl to when playing A2 Adelaide Turf. Poked at everything outside off, very amateurish display. Ponting has to be dropped......but there is no-one else good enough to replace him. Don't have 1 captain, we do it in the SANFL.

Siddle with the wicket of Strauss as well now. Good catch by Hussey in the gully.

Siddle is bowling really well at the moment

He is a front runner, hates pressure and it doesnt help having a retard as a vice captain

Well deserved sidds he always busts his arse and he was the only aussie bowler who looked interested yesterday. Love the way he goes about his work. Hilfy is rubbish though, very pedestrian one trick pony. If there is no swing he just bowls pies, id have doug, cameron or copeland ahead of him

Agreed, and for mine the worst part is that everyone is so accepting of this. The media, and in general the fans, accept the fact that Mitch has already lost his 'form' and he's back to normal, rubbish Mitch. It's infuriating. It's almost getting to the point where he should only play the Perth test ever year.

Siddle reminds me of Andy Bichel - might not be the best fast bowler around, but he puts in 100% for every delivery he bowls. And you can see the passion he has for the game in his appeals and celebrations.
