Ishant sharma - what a talent. He showed it last summer and is doing us like a dinner here.
Is he channelling Dizzy? Check out his hair, the line and length pace with subtle movement and his batting stance and blocker style as a nightwatchman.
I reckon Dizzy was his hero.

Aussies on the end of mental disintegration and it seems to have worked.

Sorry Mal, despite his first innings heroics, I'm still not sold on him. Consistency, playing and scoring as a batsman is what I ask. If he continues his batting form until the end of the series I may change my mind. His bowling though....

Watto gone for 2. That's twice he's been plumb LBW this test and only once given out. This could be all over tonight.

Good call on the similarities to Gillespie. He bowls very similar and his batting is quite similar as well. He is going to be a wonderful player. What a talent.

Australia need to go back to the proven formula of picking 6 specialist batsmen, 4 Specialist bowlers and a Keeper. Their recent obcession with playing AVERAGE all-rounders will see them fall down the rankings quicker than MAl will down a bucket of chips sitting in the Bayman stand on wednesday watching the Deadbacks suffer another defeat.

Watson AINT a top 6 test batsman and White AINT a top 6 anything. Quite possibly the Worst spinner (if you can call him that) to play for Australia. At least Dan Cullen can SPIN the ball even if he doesn't get wickets.

Great post Jim.

Surely our first priority is to get rid of White by the next test, and i think if Hayden doesn't get a decent score next test, could he be dropped?

I know Watto isn't a favourite on here, but he has been one of the better players of the series so far, but that can change very quickly.

I haven't actually thought that far ahead, that was a silly comment, but knowing the Australian selectors they will find some sh1tty second grade opener.

SHARMA
Mixed marraige
Jason Gillespie/Jon English

Agree with the consensus 2 allrounders who are ordinary bowlers is one too many in any team

Ive worked out why IN decared 518 in front
Dhoni wants to have the biggest defeat by IN over AU in history ?

As for WATTO these pitches dont suit him as he is a backfoot player
He keeps getting out Bowled + LBW
He will improve immensley against any opposition away from the sNub continent
Im surprised hes done as well as he has with the bat

WHO WILL REPLACE HIM??

Hodge (in form..although against SA)
Marsh (opener)
D Hussey (hopes its in the genes and he can score like his brother)
Symonds (our best spin bowling option  )

NOT Roy

He needs to be able to bowl to justify his spot in the side mal. You know as well as i that he is not one of the best 6 batsman in the country. He is not good enough with the ball to justify his spot in the side.

His bowling will still not be good enough mal. He can bat but not as well as others. If he could bowl reasonably then sure pick him but he is genuine cannon fodder in Test cricket.
