Don’t forget that it’s just to make the sheep shaggers bat again
Being that far behind on first innings making them bat again is some achievement!

All out 429. NZ win by an innings and 52.

To score 660 plus and loose by over an innings takes some doing.

Did they forget to prepare a pitch and just roll the outfield?

Two superstars of international cricket have retired for south africa, Hashim Amla from all formats and Dale Steyn from test cricket. Hashim was a superstar in his prime and beautiful watch, just an unbelievable player in all formats. His record in tests fell away over the last few years but in his prime he was a class act and one of crickets good guys. Steyn was the best fast bowler of his generation, his ability to bowl fast and swing it was a thing of beauty. His strike rate is one of the best of all time and he did it in all conditions. Hopefully he has some good limited over cricket left in him.

Dale Steyn is my favourite cricketer ever, just an incredible bowler with incredible numbers. I absolutely loved his aggression and his wicket celebrations and I really wish he wasn't cut down by injury later in his career. He was on track to take more wickets than McGrath (Always had better numbers than Anderson for a long time) and had a wickets per test average better than 5 at one stage.

Wickets per test averages of the top 10 test wickets takers-
Muralitharan 6.01
Warne 4.88
Kumble 4.68
Anderson 3.85
McGrath 4.54
Walsh 3.93
Broad 3.51
Steyn 4.72
Dev 3.31
Herath 4.65
(Hadlee in 11th place 5.01)
