steve smith coming onto bowl, needs to bowl himself more often imo

Bird you star, bet he didn't think he'd equal a world record in this test when he found out he wasn't going to be playing.

The funny thing is those catches don't officially count for him

Bobby Simpson for many years was stranded on 99 catches + 1 as a sub, before he came back to test cricket and took a few more.

Good inclusions imo.

Reckon stanlake is a great prospect.

I'm glad Lynn is in and Finch just needed to be dropped.

WTF? DIdn't you watch them bat in the last 24 hours?

They were No. 1 in the test rankings 3 months ago!

1st innings collapse in Brisbane. Australia get over 400.

2nd innings collapse in Melbourne. Australia get over 600.

Skittled in Sydney after losing almost a day to rain. Australia get over 500 and 2/240.

All the while Australia are messing around with the middle order and batted one short ( Wade ).

Still think they've got ticker?

Bold move going in without a keeper.

I was thinking he reminded me of Kane from Upper Middle Bogan, but I think the Bryant comparison is pretty much spot on.

I seen on Facebook yesterday someone suggested Brett Watts was subbing.

Australia to field two debutants in first ODI, Maxwell returns while Khawaja misses out

Queensland duo Chris Lynn and Billy Stanlake will make their one-day international debuts against Pakistan at their home ground of the Gabba tomorrow. Captain Steve Smith today confirmed Australia's XI for the opening match of the VB ODI series with Lynn and Stanlake to become Australia's 217th and 218th ODI representatives respectively.

Lynn has played five T20s for Australia but will taste international 50-over cricket for the first time while fast bowler Stanlake will debut despite having played just four 50-over matches for his state.

Travis Head will open the batting alongside David Warner in the absence of dumped opener Aaron Finch, with Lynn to bat at number four.

Allrounder Glenn Maxwell also returns for the first time in 13 matches, but legspinner Adam Zampa has been left out of the side with the Aussies opting for a pace-heavy bowling attack of Stanlake, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins as well as medium-pace allrounders James Faulkner and Mitchell Marsh.

Australia XI: David Warner, Travis Head, Steve Smith (c), Chris Lynn, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Wade, James Faulkner, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Billy Stanlake

Head opening instead of Lynn is interesting. Guess they didn't want two slappers to open lol.

Great for Head to get the opportunity to open, he's had success at the top of the order for the Redbacks so it's a good move and Lynn is better suited at and a natural number 4.
