If Baz has a job before the next Test I’d be gob smacked. The spin that comes out of that camp is the biggest load of nonsense I’ve ever seen from a professional team. He deserves to lose his job on the preparation alone. Imagine if they played 2 warm up games (3-4 days each) before Perth. They played far better in Adelaide but that’s 3 games too late. As a team their temperament is terrible and they struggle to bat 100 overs. Pure arrogance and a team who think they are a lot better than they are.

That last catch was Marnus' 50th in tests (after notching his 150th in FC matches yesterday).

Whilst Australia win the series and retain the Ashes, let’s acknowledge the moral victors.

Congratulations England.

Broadcast speculated Cummins won’t play the last 3 tests now the series is done.

When questioned Cummins refused to deny and said he won’t know if his ready for Boxing Day rest for a couple of days.

Wasn’t very convincing at all so appears there is some truth to it.

Well, that's because he hasn't been needed. I reckon the only genuine match he hasn't delivered when needed recently was this years WTC final (26 wicketless overs in the 2nd innings). But because a player is 37-38 it seems to hinge on game to game performances, not series to series.

tl;dr, This match shows how he is still an integral part of the team.

I never doubted his ability and yes he bowled beautifully in the first dig, age is the issue for mine.

If he wasn’t needed then that says something within itself, admittedly I held England in too high esteem and had concerns about our batting, hence why I thought Webster would’ve added more all round to our XI, moot point now and they’re all just opinions, none were wrong, everyone just sees the game differently and I don’t want us to bottom out like we did a few years ago with an aging list and not much blooding of youth happening.

I was still 100% behind him when he got the nod, not so much Inglis. Webster needs to be in there moving forward.

Fair enough you give him credit when it is due, but you also have been wanting him out of the side for the last 5-6 years. At least you've got your way for the rest of this series by the looks of it.

Starting August the next 12 months will be one of our busiest periods in history

After the Ashes we have

August: 2x tests against Bangladesh here

Sept:Oct: 3x tests v South Africa away

Dec/Jan: 4x tests v NZ here

Jan/Feb: 5x tests v India away

March: Centenary test v England at MCG

Jun/July: 5x tests Ashes in England

20 tests in under a year is tough for the old boys so how many of Starc, Lyon, Khawaja and even Smith potentially are around for that 2027 Ashes and when do we start blooding some further youth options?
