Very good. The Bairstow stumping has over shadowed the tactics that both teams deployed at Lords with short pitched bowling to defensive fields. Australia started it, but England went next level. These tactics have the potential to stagnate a game and pose a serious threat to Test cricket. It will be interesting to see if the same tactics are deployed at Headingly. I would love to see umpires crack down on short pitch bowling that passes over the head of a batter. There were many instances at Lords where wides should have been called, but weren't. If these tactics continue I would would also suggest the ICC revert to the Laws of cricket and classify short pitch balls passing over a batters head as no balls rather than wides as per the playing conditions for Test matches. Hopefully we get a reasonably sporty pitch at Headingly and there is no need for these tactics.

Bang on mate. First time i can remember that i switched off test cricket due to being bored. I even survived the Pakistan series the other year.

Australia playing funny buggers with selection again?

Cam Green a notable absentee from the final training session. Mitch Marsh seen putting in plenty of work including fielding drills and then lots of handshakes with support staff. Could he be back in the starting XI?

Not a bad move. I was thinking Marsh could come in and bat at 6 or 7 for either Hazlewood or Green for this Test match as a counter-attack to the short-pitched bowling. Green is the most like for like and hasn't set the world on fire this series so far.

I love Green and think he's a 10 year test cricketer but he hasnt had the greatest start to the tour.

Wouldn't surprise me if they are going to give him a rest. I know 22 overs for the test isn't a lot, but they were spent running in bowling short balls which would have taken some effort. Back to back tests and Marsh a quality cricketer in his own right.

I dont think anyone who bowled in the last test trained because of the short turnaround between tests

His catching alone is worth a lot of runs

Stick with Green. He'll come good with the bat.
Like people have said, his catching is outstanding and his height with the ball is important.
If he's injured then Marsh comes in.

Come on now.

Both he's batting and bowling performances have been below average.

We are the number one nation in the world, we are not picking blokes purely for their fielding.

Averaging 21 with the bat, 57 with the ball isnt a great series no matter what way you spin it.

I would stick with him because i think hes going to be a gun but its clear he hasnt started as well as he would have liked.
