Rain almost certainly cost MS the game
If they bat 2 more overs and make 200+ they prob win easily
The way Hodgey was batting maybe closer to 210

BF
When it was reduced form 18 overs to 13 Perth went from $5-80 into $4-00
The perception of punters was that the D/L system definitely helped PS

It is easier to chase 139 off 13 than 187 off 18 overs

13 overs means you can just bash at everything
18 overs is harder , as you need wickets in hand

Congratulations to D/L system it provided a great finish
But ...

What is the law regarding finishing times?
Why couldnt both sides get 18 overs?
The game would have went maybe another 30 minutes longer, reckon it finished about 9:00pm Perth time.
Understand it couldnt be done at ODI level but T20 seems to make up the rules as it goes along as evidenced by a couple of results from earlier in the comp. If T20 is all about entertainment like they say then why not give the crowd an extra half hour

Jimbo MIGHT have something to do with Foxtel TV ?
They want the games at a scheduled finished ?

IF so , its ...., as they sometimes have replays of other cricket games on after BBL games

Should teams be allowed 2 have 3 imports. just think talent base abit thin. it is good for players 2 b exposed 2pressure situations, so think bbl will help next gen at international level. Just feel there are some players just getting games 2 make up numbers

Stars got screwed big time with DL last night, it works in other forms but they need to look at it in T20 where it doesnt work properly.

Why not play another hour and give teams the full overs if weather allows?

Surely the DL method was correct last night, came down to the last ball. All blame has to levelled at Faulkner, bowling a no-ball when you are going for the win is a disgrace FFS

Didn't catch any of the game but looks like James Faulkner is becoming a bit of a finals choker. Last year against putland and this year with the ball against Perth.
The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

The aim of DL (or any rain rule system) isn't to manufacture a close finish, it is to maximise the chance that the team that plays better on the night actually wins.
So whether it happens to be a close finish or not is irrelevant.

Faulkner stuffed it up as he did in last years Ryobi Cup last over and has done on many occasions. The funniest thing is that someone must rate him, I know I don't.

Find me all the other players then, who by the age of 22, had taken over 100 first class wickets at an average under 23, while averaging over 27 with the bat as well.
