Cowan
Warner
Hughes
Watson
Clarke
Wade
Henriques
Starc
Siddle
Lyon
Doherty

That is what I think the selectors will pick, not what I would go with though.

You know a poor team is picked when Lyon is batting 9.

Would rather Johnson play then Henriques. Honestly think over the 4 tests, Johnson will take more wickets and make more runs if they both had the same opportunities.

Like I said, that team is what I think the selectors will pick for the first test, not mine. The last 2 tests are on slightly friendly pace bowling pitches, so it will be survive the first 2, and attack the last 2.

Smith is viewed purely as a batter, not an all rounder. As was said by the selectors when they announced the squad

I didn't hear that. In that case he is no chance to play IMO.

You cant play Henriques, id rather see them play Johnson as the alrounder as you said before.

With long hops and full tosses? Need 2 spinners who can bowl line and length and bore the Indians into a bad shot. Too late to call up Fawad Ahmed?

Who cares how good your spinners are when you have a terrible keeper that wont take a catch or make a stumping.

I just dont see the point of playing 2 spinners for the sake of it.
If we havnt got 2 that can do the job dont play 2.
Id be very surprised if Doherty and Lyon take 20 wickets between them for the series

That is a problem, but on a dry turning pitch, what is the point in playing 3 quicks?

We can't not play two spinners. Even picking a spud to bowl will be more effective than playing an extra quick. I wouldn't be surprised if India play 3 spinners and the pitch turns sideways from ball one

Yep. At least the 2 spinners will get something out of the pitch. Panesar and Swann went alright.

People would have said the same thing about Krezja or Clarke taking bags

In India an average spinner becomes better than a good bowler.

Look at England I'm sure most would rate Broad, Bresnan, Finn alot better than monty Panesar but in India he becomes a world beater.
