494 I think?

Second highest score ever on day one of a test

Yep, my mistake, fixed now
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Rumour is Cullen Bailey is moving to Sth Africa, finally found someone who bowls more full toss's and long hops then he does and is a chance in a few years

Bails wouldn't qualify for Guatemala. Put him ahead of the spinners to day tho

Would hardly think that calling someone better than Tahir is praising them ;)
The Aussies would face better net bowlers than Tahir, that was nothing short of tripe today. Smith should have bowled himself

Hey Mal, having seen both of these days of cricket, which day was better ;)

That was a day in 1910
It was in Sydney, no planes to catch, so had to go over by Cobb and Co
Got to the SCG for the day 1
I had thought when Victor Trumper was run out for 27, that I would be short changed
Australia were 1/52 , when Clem Hill, the best batsman in the world ,came in to join Warren Bardsley
A real talent that Clem Hill, seen him play for South Adealide against Norwood as a young lad in the mid 1890's in the SA footy comp
Clem and Warren put on a obliterating 224 partnership, Bardsley out for 132 in 150 balls
Next in was another South Aussie Don Gehrs, who made a nice 67
Aussies were 3/420
You had to be there to believe it next, this big bloke came in, about twice bigger than me
He had this nickname of the Big Ship, it was Warwick Armstrong, he made 48 as well
Clem Hill made 191 off only 200 balls , he was a short stodgy bloke, built a bit like David Warner, and boy could he hit a ball
By stumps The Aussies made 6/494
I was amazed at this total made in 295 minutes
We made 528 , and bowled the South Affies out for 174 + 240

It was good to catch up with some old timers at the ground, who told me about Charles Bannermans 165 in the first Test Match in 1877 in Melbourne

Bannerman made 167* you're probaly thinking of Walters who made 165 on debut at Brisbane 88 years after Bannerman
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I think they do with Clarke still there, Kallis going down (gee he was bowling well from what I saw), Steyn possibly not 100% with hamstring tightness (according to cricinfo), no Philander and Tahir bowling poo, hardly landing the ball which is just embrassing to watch. In saying that though it is only day one, at the Adelaide oval so we can't get too ahead of ourselves just yet. There's still alot of cricket to be played, anything can happen, just look at the last test match.
