Still a fail the other blokes just failed more.

Some are way to kind in here if 20 runs isn't a failure

any run a redback makes is a success
Matty Wade is a star and deserves more respect from the forum family!

Season defining first session tomorrow, game will be won/lost in first hour. Hopefully we can snare a couple of wickets early on.
Be ironic if the Blizz guides the Tigers past us considering the stick he cops from a few posters on here

Glad I have been away from the computer for most of the day. Think I would of got banned in the heat of the moment as redbacks wickets were tumbling.

My guess is that with our recent poor performances against the new ball, why not offer up some fodder to take the shine off and give the real batsmen a chance against the old ball. Looking back on it he did third top score for us and was one of three batsmen to get double figures. I guess we could ask that if he had batted in his true position, and gave 1st drop to a reputed batsman, would we have scored more? The scoreboard shows we posted a low score, but Richardson was at the top end of that score.
Did it help or not?

Why are we not trying 2 get Dan Harris back? Has he retired/work/family? Would county cricketers come over, if no local talent can be found? Simon Katich could come over? Is there anyone that could shaw up the middle order around the other states that isnt getting a game? Big day 2morrow i think are guys are right in it. Hope the tassie test players are thinking 2 much about the south africans!

Honestly we don't have that many quality players (and they aren't going to be making runs 100% of the time), but the biggest issue is the gap between our top tier players (Klinger/Ferguson/Christian/Cooper) and the rest.
Putland was awesome last season until injury, Joe Mennie was a real find, and Head looked quite handy.

At the start of the year, I thought the best eleven we have could win a Shield if they all stayed fit and played to their fullest (We know just how well Klinger/Hughes/Coops/Ferg can bat), but the difference is that when they struggle, they don't Steve Waugh out a twenty or thirty, they capitulate quicker than Shaun Marsh.

Don't know what the solution is, but we are in strife.

He had a horror start to the season last year, couldn't get the runs in a dodgy Indian restaurant.

I'm with you, we have to protect what batsmen we do have, especially on a dodgy track.

First Class teams are only allowed 1 overseas player per team. The captain fills that position.

Interesting thought brought up on an ABC news report this week when doing a story on Abdul Qadir's son Usman. Would he consider becoming an Australian citizen to qualify for Test cricket. Now if he decides that way (more to the point his father lets him) he will be 23/24 when eligible for Test Cricket but can play First class as a local during the waiting period.

So do we scour the non Test playing nations and hope these blokes will be good enough

Why didnt our fearless leader promote himself up the order?

How bizarre, I was going to write that but thought better of it, an international man of mystery should've been up for the challenge, fear of failure perhaps?

Just thought with the deck being similar to ones in his homeland and his international experience it would have been a good chance to put up his hand. He did actually look the most comfortable of the batters yesterday.
Sometimes a skipper has to sacrifice himself for the benefit of the team, might earn him some respect from the kids in the side and be a morale booster
