I don't think this matters as much as many people think.

The demographic they are appealing to doesn't care whether a club cricketer hack like Salpietro or a fringe Australian player like Xavier Doherty is bowling, as they have never heard of either of them before. Plus the differences in skill between players like these are too subtle for them to notice.
As long as there are large crowds, lots of sixes, fireworks, tacky music and relatively even games they will continue to turn up regardless of who is playing.

Yep definatly cant be anymore teams in Vic or NSW.

Talent pool is very very thin at the moment but imho the whole reason they went for the franchises was so they could expand, more games, more games on t.v, bigger t.v rights, more money.

Oh what all a sudden Channel 9 are after the rights and the money war begins.

If more money comes in through TV rights and sponsors then I would have thought the salary caps could increase and better imports attracted.

I heard on radio last night that Bangladesh are running their own T20 comp and already offering more (a lot more IIRC) money than is being offered by the BigBash teams currently.

Everyone wants their piece of the action.

I have said before that I see ODIs being the casualty here. Maybe we'll see scaled back ODI tournaments except for the World Cup every 4 years. Is anybody still interested in this format of the game?

Personally i wouldnt be too disappointed with that if that meant Test cricket was still the ultimate form and scheduled accordinly

Personally i would like to see an Aussie summer scheduled something like (i know its not always easy)

but 6 test matches split into 2- 3 match series against 2 different opponents.. Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart all hosting 1 test match

6 ODI's and T20 split into 2-3 match series against 2 different opponents

Totally agree with this statement ecky.
If there is more teams there is less talented players playing, therefore the gun batsman will dominate even more thus creating the environment and atmosphere the people want to see. People want to see guys like Gayle make 100's off 40 balls and extending the amount of teams would make it more likely

Even CA know you'll get less out of this bitch each time you milk it. The only way to prop up the figures is to have more games where the novelty of the circus act hasn't worn off yet. Send in the clowns.........

I have to agree with this. Also, is it financially viable to expand on the current competition? CA do not want to make the same mistakes the FFA did in expanding the A-League too quickly

It seems some Parents of the Queensland under 19 team are not happy with their state cricket association. Allegedly Queensland Cricket has cut the underage program budget to shreds and redirecting the funds to the Big Bash team

If Queensland has resorted to this imagine what the SACA has done to their teams
