Same could be said for Pontings' dismissel as well. Going for a hook shot on a variable pitch so early was always going to be dangerous.

Also Lyon getting 5 wickets. No T20= no Nathan Lyon at the moment.

There is a lot of if's and but's in what I am saying but ultimately if there was no Big Bash last year, Lyon would be mowing the lawn at AO this week for Ports first game there instead of playing his first game for Australia. Those that continually bag T20 cricket should have some perspective about the positives it can also provide Australian cricket.

Fair point you have there Cripple though i think in general players have struggled to return to Test match mode immediately after playing T20.

Yeah but it's kind of like winning $20 on the pokies after you've lost $50,000. T20 has minimal positives for test cricket, obviously lyon is one of them, hope they stick with him on decks that aren't as helpful.

Its just a matter of the finding the players necessary via whatever avenue available. If those players such as Watto today cannot figure out they are playing a test match instead of a T20 then that's their fault, not that of T20 cricket. Plenty of players that don't play T20 play stupid shots and also get out. I think alot of people know use T20 as a scapegoat for laziness/ poor technique.
