especially with no harmison in the england side. hughes had a lot of trouble with the short ball. the pom bowlers will bowl that length but do any of them have the speed to match harmison??

Probably only Flintoff has the ability when fit and firing to really worry him consistently with the short ball. Make no mistake though the other three are far more accurate than Harmison is and was 100% the right decision not too play him.

25 more runs (Which they should get) will put England in a position to well and truly control this test match especially with Panesar and Swann having a 4th innings pitch to bowl on.[/quote]

mate if our batsmen can capture the form i know they can get, then there will not be a 4th innings.go ozzys.

Well lets say England make at least 360+ we are going to need to make 600+ for there to be no 4th innings. I have my doubts!

Looking at the dismissals, a lot of them were soft. Doesn't look like the sort of pitch you collapse pathetically on, even if it is taking a bit of spin. The pommy commentators themselves thought 400 or so was a par score. I just have a feeling we've done a lot better here than we think we have. Bundle them out for <370 and we should be able to go into the second innings with a lead. Should being the key word.

Johnson gets the 8th wicket, very important as the pitch looks like it's playig very well and slow (granted they have only bowled around 5 overs today). We can't afford any of these tailenders to put a partnership on.

England now 8 for 384, not looking good for the Aussies anything over 400 may put us out the game IMHO.

Aussies CAN'T win this Test form here and will be doing very well to get out of it with a DRAW.
