A cryptic message left as a status update on the player's Facebook page said: "leaving pakistan cricket because get bad msg fr 1 man fr lose the match in last game." The last match that his Facebook status seems to refer to is the fourth ODI of the series, another closely-fought thriller, in which Haider's unbeaten 19 took Pakistan to victory with one wicket and one ball to spare.

Raza Haider, Zulqarnain's brother, said the wicketkeeper had reportedly received threats. "I spoke to Zulqarnain after the fourth ODI and he told me he had received some kind of threats after that game, but he gave no details," Raza said.

West Indies A 118 for 5 (Hyatt 72*, Junaid 2 for 12) beat Pakistan A 117 for 7 (Umair 33, Miller 2 for 8) by five wickets

Danza Hyatt came to West Indies A's rescue with some controlled hitting after a top-order collapse to lead them to, what was in the end, a comfortable five-wicket win over Pakistan A in the second Twenty20 match at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

Chasing 118, the West Indies top order was blown away by the fast-bowling pair of Junaid Shah and Mohammad Rameez, who took two wickets each to leave the hosts tottering at 31 for 4. That soon became 39 for 5, when captain David Bernard (3) was run out in the 11th over, and Pakistan looked set to square the series after losing the first game in a one-over eliminator.

David Warner and Ryan Carters managed to belt 48 runs from the last over of the final to give Australia their first Hong Kong Sixes trophy on Sunday. Pakistan were on track to defend their total of 6 for 132 in five overs and needed to limit Australia to 46 from the last eight balls delivered by Imran Nazir.

Warner (35 off 11 balls) and Carters (31 off eight) stormed the team to a two-wicket victory. "It was amazing," Warner said. "We have that Australian passion when things are against us.

Lasith Malinga, the Sri Lanka fast bowler, has been left out of the squad for the first Test against West Indies which begins in Galle on November 15.

Malinga had made a comeback to Tests after an absence of more than two years during the home series against India in July and August 2010. He played the first Test, was rested from the second and bowled only six overs on the final day of the third, as India completed a successful chase at the P Sara Oval. Since then, Malinga played the tri-series at home against New Zealand and India and was part a successful tour of Australia, where Sri Lanka won a one-day series for the first time.

Squad: Kumar Sangakkara (capt), Mahela Jayawardene, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Tharanga Paranavitana, Thilan Samaraweera, Angelo Mathews, Prasanna Jayawardene (wk), Thilina Kandamby, Ajantha Mendis, Suraj Randiv, Rangana Herath, Kaushal Silva, Dammika Prasad, Dilhara Fernando, Thilan Thushara, Suranga Lakmal.

Plans are being put in place for a first-class structure in Ireland that could pave the way for the country to become a Test nation. Although still a long way from coming to fruition, possibly a decade, Cricket Ireland believes it is a realistic aim following the team's rise in one-day international and Twenty20 cricket.

New Zealand will play two Twenty20s, three ODIs and one Test when they tour Zimbabwe in October, Zimbabwe Cricket has said. The tour begins on October 15 in Harare, where the T20s and the first two ODIs will be played. The visitors will then play a two-day warm-up game in Bulawayo before the one-off Test begins there on November 1.

This might lead to the formation of a two tier Test nation system. Ireland are sick of their good players being poached by England with the lure of Test Cricket.
