NSW will receive a boost with Smith and Clarke set to return for the last match of the season if they're still in with a chance of making it.

Queensland have set WA a very generous target.
395 off a minumum of 131 overs.
WA off to a bad start with North going very early.

One round to go

SS LADDER
26 WA
26 SA
26 NS
22 QL

WA top as have won 4 outrights SA /NS have 3 outrights
SA in front of NS on run rate
WA top , but have lost more games than SA/NS , go figure

MATCHES
NS V WA
TA V SA
VI V QL

THE EQUATION
The best part of the last round is the 3 leaders have destiny in their own hands
NS V WA outright winner to make the final [unless leader on first innings loses outright] first innings might be enough
SA needs to beat TA outright to make the final , or first innings might be enough [if NS only win on first innings]
QL can make it if a lot of results fall their way

My tips NS-SA-QL last round
Assuming all games have outrights the ladder could be
SA 32
NS 32
QL 28
WA 26

SA v NS final on Brighton Road

Other news
Hughes back for SA , Botha out
Smith and Lyon for NS [Clarke has stated he will play in the final if they make it]
Shaun Marsh for WA
Mitch Marsh in doubt with a side strain injury

http://www.news.com.au/sport/cricket/cricket-nsw-says-sheffield-shield-final-will-be-at-manuka-oval-if-blues-finish-first/story-fndpt0dy-1226850328702
NEW SOUTH WALES has made the surprising announcement that should the Blues finish atop the Sheffield Shield ladder, they will choose not to play the final in their home state.
Cricket NSW chief executive Andrew Jones confirmed on Monday that the Blues have nominated Canberra’s Manuka Oval as its preferred final venue.
Going into the final round of matches this week, NSW is level on points with Western Australia and South Australia, with Queensland four points behind on 22.
There are plenty of permutations that could occur but if the Blues do end up in first place, they will choose to play the decider in Canberra.
The Prime Minister’s XI match against England earlier this year drew a healthy crowd.
Their spiritual home at the Sydney Cricket Ground will be unavailable due to the Major League Baseball matches between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks, but there are several other venues in NSW that could have hosted the match, including Bankstown Oval, Blacktown Oval, or Newcastle’s No.1 Sportsground.
Jones explained that cricket, rather than commercial considerations were the driving force behind the decision — although Cricket NSW’s current partnership with the ACT Government expires at the end of the season.
“A number of venues were considered, but fundamentally it was a cricket decision and our coaching staff felt that Manuka Oval was the right choice to host the Shield Final should the situation arise. The Blues are playing at Manuka this week, so playing the final there will provide continuity and familiarity of conditions.”
The deal in place at the moment between Cricket NSW and the ACT Government guarantees one Sheffield Shield match per season to be played in Canberra.
Manuka Oval hosted its first one-day international last year when Australia took on West Indies, and Cricket ACT chairman Ian McNamee recently went on record as saying the 15,000 capacity ground is ready to host Test cricket.

I believe that Cricket NSW has taken over Cricket ACT, so i'm not surprised at all, they would surely want to promote and grow the sport in ACT so it's worth their investment and time..

Isn't there an agreement between The ACT government and Cricket NSW that 1 shield match to be played in Canberra per year. This is the last year of this agreement.

Final to be hosted there also if NSW are hosting. Adel Oval not the only place booked out for the Shield Final what a disgrace
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

VI 210
QL 1/70

QL game plan make them in a hurry and get VI out ASAP
Domenic Michael has given QL an absolute flyer making 9 in a quick fire 60 deliveries
QL look almost good things for 6 points

WA 82
NS 186
Good positive cricket by the NS batsmen carving up 186 in only 79.5 overs
East Coast Smith top scored with 48
NS have not buried the Sandgropers as yet
Hit or miss experts North and Shaun Marsh the key from here

It almsost appeared to be a NS V QL SS final stumps day 1
But its all happening today

SA 210
TA 6/288
Redbacks still a hope if they contain The double headers to 300-330

VI 201
QL 3/123
The Bullys still on top, but the Bushies right back in it with 2-3 quick wickets

WA 82
NS 186
WA 0/31
What a sensational fightback by the Warriors
North is set
The shine off the ball when Marsh and Voges get in
IF IF IF IF IF Marsh gets going , and IF IF IF North converts WA could be in the final , and IF Voges cashes in ....
Could set NS an imposing enough total batting last

Still tipping a NS V QL final , but nowhere near as confident as last night
