My assesment of that batting performance and our general batting in India

The openers Warner and Cowan, i can accept their dismissals, the ball was doing a fair bit early, Cowan was slightly unlucky, and Warner missed one he should have hit but maybe a by product of the movement early.

Hughes and Henriques, they had no idea and made themselves sitting ducks, not sure what their thought pattern was, see off Ashwin/Jadeja and hopefully it will get easier, well it wont in India they just bring on another spinner, thats like trying to see off Steyn so they bring Morkel on after him. There was no intent, at one point both blocking short wide balls to the silly point.

There was just no intent at any time from either of them. Watching Clarke, he is pushing hard trying to get the ball past the 3-4 inclose fielders knowing if he goes hard it will take a hell of a catch from the in close fielders and the chances of being caught from any outfielders is very limited. So many times he gets that slighty shorter ball and pushes it hard past silly point and gets the single.

Watson, dumb dumb cricketer, only two balls earlier had one stay low on him, so whats he do next short ball he gets he tries to pull. Dumb Dumb Dumb

This whole series what i havent seen us do is sweep the ball, Hayden arguably the greatest Aussie batsmen in India lived off this shot, Tendulkar and Dhoni will be sweeping all day, despite the innovations of T20 we dont have any batsmen who wanna sweep. Michael Clarke is the exception because he uses his feet so well.

In India you need to be able to do one of two things either sweep, or get down the wicket to it. If you cant do one of them you have no hope.

The other difference i have noticed is Clarke 99% of the time is trying to defend the ball straight back down the wicket, while the others at times seem like their trying to drop it at the toes of the silly point/leg or slightly wide. In defence it has to be a straight bat down the wicket and give yourself half a metre room for error.

Sorry for boring use im just so frustrated.

Coming forward to the ball would be a good start. Dhoni is a terrible keeper so just back that he stuffs up any stumping chances.

I don't think those 2 were going to hang around for long.

But if they were going to declare, why didn't Pattinson and Doherty bat like it was the last over in a T20 game instead of blocking it out? Could have got another 10 runs which could be the difference in a low scoring match.

I am often baffled by the lack of aggression showed by teams just before they declare - if you are going to declare anyway you have nothing to lose (except your batting average which shouldn't be a factor in a team game...) by getting out. So you should be swinging as hard as you can every ball.

I don't think they were aware, which is not good. You are right. Would have been better throwing the bat.

Ridiculous declaration by Clarke.

Moses bowled 8 overs for seven runs. Theory is that helps build pressure, but the other guys are leaking boundaries.
