Yep, who cares if he performs in the shorter forms of the game that mean stuff all. We need decent players at shield level and Botha is a hack. To bribe him with the captaincy is a disgrace, would much rather of seen Steve Smith come here

Cant and we just showed that.
This will mean that the AUSTRALIAN test spin bowler will not play FC cricket.....how much worse can we make it for ourselves

just some stats here - if you exclude lyon's test record his first class stats are:

31 wickets, average 51.48, strike rate 92.13 - not very impressive at all

for comparison
dan cullen: 120 wickets, average 44.28, strike rate 81
cullen bailey: 79 wickets, average 49.46, strike rate 79

Yeah but a truck of load of money and the opportunity to play on the batting paradise in Adelaide would have to be worth a little.

If we had to get someone from overseas I would have rathered some old fart with a decent county cricket history

There is no use in batting in paradise if none of your team mates can.

Who cares if he can't get wickets for the Jellybacks? As long as he bowls well for the Aussies it's all good.

Looking at this photo I assume he has fielded the ball off his own bowling and is throwing it back to the keeper?

Botha is a fine cricketer and has that hard nosed approach. We need a bit of mongrel and i think he bring this. just need batsmen 2 stand up more. We have the talent but do we have the application 2 get those big scores.
