I like Hughesy but obviously he just feeds the slips. He should either be leaving those balls outside off or having a crack at it so at least if he does edge it make it harder to catch.

My coach used to say...

"if you're going to go, go hard"...

Sage advice... (not just for batting either)

My junior coach would of made me run laps for playing at ones outside off with no conviction.

Lol what a stupid post. Great fielding and then a bloody good quick release that just missed the stumps. Would have been safe anyway IMO

2nd ball of day Warner hit one out near the boundary, they took a third run and Hughes was halfway down the pitch but the throw missed the keeper by 5 metres. Hughes hadnt faced a ball

How long ago does this feel? :(

Remember how excited we all were? I'm not convinced he's done forever, he's only just turned 23, but he needs a long stint back in domestic cricket.

Completely agree. Obvious he can play as when he goes back to domestic level he makes runs, just needs to tighten his weaknesses in order to succeed at the top.

That was good running, was a good sign early. Wanted to get on strike. He was home if it was straight over the stumps. Nothing wrong with that running

I dare-say it's been raised elsewhere*, but I think it's more than due for Clarke & Ponting to swap batting positions.

Disagree. Seen clarkes average batting at number 4? Absolutely woeful. Number 5 is his spot. No doubt about it

Phil Hughes, all the talent in the world. But if you cannot convert that into runs, it means nothing.

Looking to the future, I would like to see Usman open in the second dig.
