Siddle is my boy, he bursts in all day, just as fast in the first over of the day as the last, and can take a bag at Test level.

Ryan Harris is a dominant Test match bowler, simple as that. The only hard part is getting the prick fit enough for a full series.

With you there, massive Siddle fan. Would still be my first picked bowler.

Not for me.

Trys hard and gives his all but still not highly rated from my point of view.

On the South African pitches, hell yes. He is like Harris and they are both exactly what is needed to take wickets over there. I would almost look at picking 4 quicks for matches over there.

I feel we need a spinner. We have the ability to have four quicks with Watson so a bit of variety is needed.

I reckon Pup could role the arm over himself for a few overs of left are orthodox, punters not the worst offie in the world. we have played worse bowlers than him since Warnie  and of course for a bit of variety Pup could throw the ball to another guy whos got a 6 for in test cricket with the his chinamans in Kato  ...or perhaps not :)

I think he should be in the side over there but definately not one of my first picks in the side and on good batting wickets he struggles IMO

Pup could role the arm over with a rolling pin to get the pies ready that he normally sends down :)

Fine, play Siddle in South Africa, but he plays no where else. Deal?

The thing about Johnson is that he can bowl spells so bad that I would probably take him for runs, then he can come o and bowl a few overs that some of the best batsmen in the world will fall over. And thats why you pick him, his good spells are bloody good and really he has that x factor that can take the wickets. I know his crap spells are like nails on chalk boards, but at the moment the good stuff is said to be worth it.

The issue will be when his good spells become less and less frequent, then in my opinion he needs to be looked at.

And also by the way he is not an allrounder. He is a Left arm quick who can bat a little. Thats it, average 30 ish with the ball at test level which is not bad, and is not an allrounder. Just a bowler that bats a bit.

Exactly, his bowling is what needs to be judged, not his batting. Any runs he scores is a bonus to us. I for one hope he has a ripper series over there heading into the Aus summer.

Johnson's good spells are too far apart. Absolute pie chucker. He's decent in South Africa, so keep him for this series, and for the test in Perth, everywhere else he can go back to the Warriors.

Some would say he's an elite all rounder with those stats. If it were someone elses stats. ;)

He's an elite all-rounder against South Africa.
He's an average-to-good cricketer against the rest.
