Lets not forget Lyon is still very, very young in terms of FC cricket. What's this, match #7 or something??

He doesn't look like anything special, a Haurtiz type (I know, I know...), but at least he's willing to toss it up and give it a bit of air which is encouraging. Doesn't spin it much though.

No, ive said it from the start. Just cos he bowled well in 1 innings my opinion hasnt changed.
If he is the best spinner in Australia we are screwed.
Im Stephen O'Keefe's biggest fan and ive been pushing his barrow for over a year so of course i didnt want Lyon in the side

Lyon thirty-odd overs, hasn't taken a wicket, but kept it quiet (2.6 RPO or something like that), and all we need is a draw anyway.

If it was the last day of the game, and we had a chance to win, and Lyon is containing the batsman only, then that's a problem, but keeping it tight when we only need a draw, that's fine with me.

To be honest, there is no spinner in Australia worthy of test cricket....but we have to pick one

If we think like that we get the loss.

Disagree entirely. Horrie should never have been omitted from the team.

Julian, Waugh and Blewett still pumpiung up Johnson saying they'd keep him because he's a 'match winner'. Other than Perth, when was he last a match winner?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sick of this bloke getting a free ride.

Siddle has picked up a wicket this morning and now has 3/80 off 30 overs. He has bowled rather full and deserved his wickets. Good to see him in the side and bowling well as the one thing that is certain with him is 100% effort.

Yeah, I'd go with that, I was surprised when he got the chop tbh. Other than him tho...anyway, the selectors are on crack.

Also, siddle to stay in the side and Johnson dropped for south africa, I'd be happy with that.

Siddle picked up another one here getting Herath, who has reviewed the decision.

Decision stands. Herath gone. Matthews a chance to be stranded here as he is on 91.

Not much has been said about Craig McDermott, but some credit to him for getting Siddle to bowl a fuller length.
Remains to be seen how long it lasts, but I imagine McDermott can see a lot of him self in* Siddle.
Mitchell Johnson, on the other hand, could be an insurmountable challenge...
