The Bedge wrote:Ok thinking ahead, should they reach a position today and run through the tail quick - do Australia enforce the follow on to seek a result, knowing they're a bowler down and a result is unlikely?

Or do they just go out and bat their way to a draw and rest the bowlers ahead of Boxing Day?

If they have a chance presented to win they've got to have a crack. Especially with Melbourne and Sydney next which India would be happy about.

1. If they don't get a result it will be because of rain, so the bowlers wouldn't have bowled to many overs.
2. If they get more play than expected but can't push for a win they have the bowling options of Smith, Head and Labuschagne so they can rest the main bowlers. Thats not taking into fact that games can be called off early.
3. Batting again is a double edge sword. What happens if they go and bat again and McSweeney, Khawaja, Labuschagne fail early under humid skies, their confidence will be completely shot. Alternatively, if they could get some runs their confidence would grow.

I would enforce it, but just seems these days it's very rare.. I can't even remember the last time the Aussies enforced a follow on.

Hazlewood out for remainder of series.
Selectors need to have a good hard look at themselves

He is done. Cannot play him again, soft tissue injuries again and again. Time to move him on rather than tarnish his career.

Side note, Jadeja should be a permanent member of Indias side; as a batting all rounder. He always bats well against us

If Labuschagne continues his lean run, perhaps will see Konstas to the top and McSweeney move down to 3? Labuschagne will site "general soreness" to avoid scrutiny :P

Khwaja goes before Marnus.

Aussies should bat again regardless … and then do a Hookesy 0/0 declaration to breathe some life back into the match.

Of course it won’t happen, but the if the great man was still with us that’s what he would be thinking.
