I knew he was a players rep, but on what authority has Tim MAy to abandon this match ?

Whilst a result is highly unlikely.. if Australia win and go 2-1 and can either win or draw in Melbourne - would the selectors dabble with the idea of blooding a Konstas in Sydney?

If Labuschagne continues his lean run, perhaps will see Konstas to the top and McSweeney move down to 3? Labuschagne will site "general soreness" to avoid scrutiny :P

I doubt they'd drop anyone if we're 2-1 or 3-1 up going into Sydney.

And of course if it's 2-1 then India could still tie the series (and retain BGT). The Australian selectors don't usually play silly buggers if the series is live.

India have batted long enough to hold on for a draw

Lyon looks cooked, no energy in his bowling.

Ok thinking ahead, should they reach a position today and run through the tail quick - do Australia enforce the follow on to seek a result, knowing they're a bowler down and a result is unlikely?

Or do they just go out and bat their way to a draw and rest the bowlers ahead of Boxing Day?

Have to back themselves to enforce the follow on (if they can) and get enough playable weather to take another 10 wickets. Starc and Cummins haven't bowled huge overs in the series and if rain saves India then they aren't bowling too much in the 2nd innings anyway. And if we get plenty of overs at them later today and tomorrow then hopefully Gary is in the groove to bowl the "Lyon's" share of them and spin us to victory.
