289/7 at stumps on day 1.

Smith in 6 overs now has more wickets than our front line spinner has for the whole series

Normally he gets wickets bowling a bit of junk but thought he bowled some good stuff last night. As a part timer he will always bowl a few long hops but his spell was very encouraging

Fell asleep at 4 fa 130 odd woke up 4/270 thought f*ck, then Sir Steven Smith turned the game again!

hopefully some constructive feedback to Patto and Siddle on lines and lengths (I thought our first 15 overs were much better than game 1 though) and we can roll them and get our chase underway.

After 3 FA I didn't think we made them play at enough balls outside off.
Started too wide and kept going. They just let em go. Then a brain fade by Trott let us back in. Fell asleep after that.

Certainly didnt make them play enough. After Lunch the bowling was terrible, reminded me of watching our bowlers as a kid in 85, balls on middle to leg that they just helped it on they way.
Was listening to some dreadful commentaryon ABC Radio switched it off at 4/240. Was pleasing to wake up to 7 fa.
I also thought our 3 Bowlers plus Watson all bowl pretty similiar at one stage Siddle and Harris bowling together it felt that the same stuff from both ends.

Who would he replace? Harris was good, Siddle was our best first test bowler and Pattinson wasnt going to be left out.

now thats a good question. I would of left it the same but after the first day you would have to say Pattison should of been out, just saying that the bowling was same stuff from both ends.
