Wonder if any Australian team officials had anything to do with not playing.

Clarke DRS appeal against Kulasekara ....AMBITIOUS , BUT ALMOST MISSED THE STUMPS
Warner LBW Perera............................INSIDE EDGE , A SHOCKER
HenREBiques LBW Herath.....................INSIDE EDGE , A SHOCKER

As for that Clarke DRS appeal
Makes a little bit of sense to me
The score was 2/50 with 40 overs to go
The best batsman in the team should have a DRS
Who is to know what would happen later in the innings
No one really complained at the time, but did when Warner and HenREBiques got out , hindsight is wonderfull
Yeah Clarke did waste an appeal in my opinion
But nothing is brought up if the umps didnt make the 2 blunders later

Imagine this though
Replays show Clarke was given out, and the ball just hit the top of middle
Imagine if it goes over the stumps, and Clarke didnt DRS ....

spot on as usual mally!!

Got to feel a bit for Henriques.
Not convinced he's going to be a regular player yet, but he's got an opportunity to have a good long bat in this match due to early wickets, and got dismissed with a shocking call.

Rotation policy will see him dropped for the next game, be forgotten about when a Maxwell takes a wicket and scores a quick 30, and won't play for another couple of years.

I have no sympathy for the Aussies for those LBWs. Sure, they were terrible decisions that live I thought were obvious edges and the umpires will feel terrible for making those decisions, but when you use reviews for decisions based on a "hope" they're overturned then when the shockers come you'll get nothing from me for your whinging. They should bring the same one and done rule for tests as well. If it's not obviously a wrong decision then it shouldn't be reviewed and the best punishment for that is to take away that privilege completely. The only time I'd say you keep your review is when the third umpire can't make a decision because the technology lets them down, such as if there's a noise on an possible edge but can't tell whether it was an edge or not.

Just take the reviews out of the players hands.
Players will always abuse any system and yes we deserved it yesterday.
I think within a couple of years every dismisal will be reviewed by the 3rd ump and batsmen will be recalled, we already see them checking every dismisal for a no-ball so that is the next progression

Two umpires, a third umpire and a match referee, I agree with the highlighted comment, give the umpire the chance to refer if he has doubts, Mark Waugh was never out according to himself.

yep but i think the reason most re saying bad luck etc etc is because of the review system, if Clarke hadnt 'wasted' one Henriques qould have still been there.

if we didnt have reviews and umps decision was finals most would be saying play on all part and parcel of the game.

Ch9 would have been spewing, had a chance to see an exciting run chase but gets called off, meanwhile there was a cracking tennis match on ch7, reckon millions would have made the move from 9 to 7 when called off.
