This is the sort of dig that makes me rate O'Brien so much... Saviour.

As far as I am concerned, well done so far, now just keep going... :ympray:

Exactly the same thinking, I would prefer a keeper who can play second fiddle and produce reasonably consistent 50 run partnerships with an established partner than one who averages 30 but is inconsistent. Ludeman only participated in one 50 run partnership this year from memory.

Media Park wrote:Klinger- handy knock.
Harris and Ferguson- starts.
Cooper- crap. However he can't dominate every week.
Dougall- crap. Not ready.
Christian- crap. Is a hit and miss player, better suited to number 8.

This got us to 6/170, and then an unbroken 46 run, 118 ball partnership, which leaves us with 6/216:
AJ Crosthwaite 15* (57 balls)
AW O'Brien 29* (77 balls)

After this, we have Chadd Sayers who can hold a bat, Trent Kelly and Peter George (rabbits).

Realistically, we could push 300 as the best result, but at 1/117, we should have roped in first innings points.

Kelly can bat. Has made 2 or 3 grade hundreds and bats 6 or 7 for West Torrens. Wouldn't surprise me if he comes in before Sayers to be honest.
Go you Redbacks!

Crosthwaite can bat all day, good technique, great patience, will be a massive bonus if we can get a top 5 batter to bat with him! Much more consistant then Ludeman! Kelly can slog good, Sayers has better technique. Batting order is right!
Obrien better batter and cricketer then Bailey.
Smith Opens and Klinger goes to 3, Dougall gone.

How is Dougall playing FC cricket? Seriously now.

And Butterworth should be in South Africa playing for Aus.

Agreed
The poor kid looks way out of his depth, i hope he learn from this and turn into a good player I just hope the selectors dont ruin him, he is not ready yet.
Butterworth unlucky not to get a gig in South Africa

Bolwing average of 24, batting average of 27. Just turned 28, I have NO idea why his name isn't considered more often.

Maybe not

77th Over
Over 76.5: Faulkner to Crosthwaite, no run, OUT, bouncer, goes to hook, gets a bottom edge and deags the ball down onto the stumps, hardly the best ball Faulkner has bowled this innings, but it got the resut they were after

If OBI can push 80, and 30 between kelly and george we can win this providing we bowl well.
