This guy Swann, the "so-called" best spinner in the world ... is it just me, or does he bowl his fair share of crap?

Probably because there aren't usually many wickets left to get when he's had a bowl this series ... :-??

Agree there guys. Think he is ranked way too high, can think of several better spinners going around.
Bowls plenty if crap and not a big spinner of the ball. Gets plenty of wickets skidding them through. Bowls too quick for aussie conditions

It seems Swann brings a lot more to the team than just his spin and is very important to the overall make up of the side, despite his modest stats this series.

Come on, difficult deck? There was no improvement whatsoever. That back foot is still anchored and his scoring zones are still restricted. Because of this restricted scoring zone he pokes at more balls than he should do outside the off stump because he has nothing on the onside except for the tuck around single and an on drive that is not played with the full face of the bat.

He tried hard no doubt about it but this guy is not good enough to play Test cricket, at least until that back foot begins to move. As Shane Warne mentioned when talking about Anderson's habit of not looking at the target (no doubt Nicholas remembered that particular Benaudism to make himself appear astute here) that technical deficencies are not a problem when you are in form. Hughes is worse than in 'not in good form', he's been worked out so those techincal problems are just that......problems. Test matches are not the place to be working on them.

Yeah yeah, I know 'who else have we got'.......

injured, but more importantly not up too test level. great state player but that next level is a bit too much. batsman play his bowling too easy and you get a moving ball and he cant get near it when he bats. but i met him a couple of years ago and he is a top Bloke.

In before Pidge

'you clearly haven't seen much cricket'. (Yeah only 35 years LOL)

Come on Joker, don't you know that even an unfit Ronald is the undisputed saviour of Australian Cricket?

Because he got flogged in India. Everyone knows that Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman, Gambhir and Sewag are crap at playing slow bowling.

Maybe it can. Hauritz and Krejza are the only two to bag wickets. It wouldn't have hurt to leave one of those two in the side for a while.

McDonald is a joke end of story. Good ss player but thats it.
Hughes is in poor form needs to improve footwork. Get maddinson in.
I know its early but usman just looks like he belongs there. Should have been playing since start of series. Big call but i can see him playing alot of years and making a pile of runs. Very stylish and technical batsman a real treat to watch

Almost the best 15* I've seen so far.

It is a shame we have had to wait until the 5th Test, he could have taken Smith's spot in the top 6 quite easily.
