Pakistan take a catch but the fielder runs straight over the rope and it's a 6.

He should have just dropped the ball down on the ground to save the runs if he couldn't throw it in the air due to momentum.

50 to Hauritz

Aust 4/407

Dont think Hauritz will last too much longer, throwing the bat at everything

A Haury ton to break the drought would be pretty funny.

Might as well give Smith his Test cap ready for Sydney.

Just goes to show what an arseclown Rudi is. How he didn't give that out i have no idea. He continues to embarrass himself.

The only thing I can think of is that Rudi thought there was an edge... but he is a terrible umpire anyway.

Good declaration by Punter.

Hauritz to the wicket

Because the way that Ponting and Hussey were going, Clarke will swing at a wide one and nick and we'd be 4 down at the close of play. Let him come out fresth tomorrow.

Or perhaps Hauritz has been given time to make the first AU ton of the season ?

One of the worst.

Interesting move, too soon for a 'only bat once' declaration, but an attacking one.

Very friendly attack

Its been mentioned that Imran Farhat has a bowling action very similar to Shane Keith Warnnnney

I think Ricky Ponting might have a sleepless night, deciding when to declare TOMorrow

But I wonder if he would have declared if Haurrie didnt get out?
Does he allow Haurrie a chance to get to the ton ?

Rudi is the reason we have this ridiculous referral system. They say it's to correct the "howler". Well, have they ever thought that instead of bringing in a new system that wastes everyone's time, it would be easier to sack those umpires most responsible for the "howler"?

The more I see Rudi, I more I wonder if Test umpires are subject to compulsory hearing and eyesight tests.

This is the best Mitch has looked early in a test match since his run of form ended. Good to see him nip one back and grab one without getting tonked beforehand.

I have been a strong critic of Hussey recently but I can't argue too much with his scores this summer. Against soft bowling attacks I would have liked to see him more fluent a la Watto but at least he's getting runs.

I can't believe all these 80s and 90s and no 100s

Well, you can't have everything. Ponting robbed us of entertaining knocks from Clarke, Haddin, Johnson etc by declaring early to avoid a "boring draw" :)
