Is it me or does it seem funny that now the Saffies are pumping us over there, the crowd seems bigger....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Hughes gone, 32. Another decent stand by the openers, 57.

Hughes 415 runs this series at 69.16. Fantastic series young man, take a well earned break. 8)

It happened on day two of the last Test - nabbing 5/4 saw them pile in; then they lost 3/6 and there was silence.

Nah, its just obvious to me that you've made a comment about Katich all this time ago, and you're wanting to stick by it despite it being more than obvious that he's more than worthy of his position in the team. Appears to me you just don't want to admit you could be wrong re the guy, or at least that admit that he's done a lot of great stuff for the side over the last year.

Nup wrong, I guess I like to look at how, where and when a guy makes runs, not just looking at stats, this guy seems to make runs when we lose, makes tons against the weaker test nations, and doesnt capitalise on his starts (just look at this test)...he has and always will be a selfish cricketer

Thats a bit harsh, Dutchy having seen him go about his business from the inside of the chage room, tour match in Darwin 4 years ago, the last thing I would call Katich is selfish.

Lets not forget his ton last test match.

Done. Stats for this series. ;)

SM Katich (Aus) 3* 6 0 260 108 43.33 603 43.11 1 2 0 32 2
RT Ponting (Aus) 3* 6 0 210 83 35.00 334 62.87 0 2 1 29 1

Seriously though, when the Kat digs in he's a selfish slowcoach. When he gets out playing a shot he's throwing his wicket away and is soft. There is nothing the guy can do before you'll give him the nod.

He's done a good job Dutchy as the figures above show. Bold figures are aggregate and average. Any opener who can average over 40 in such an important series has clearly done the business.

It's frustrating enough if your pace bowler oversteps the popping crease, but for a spinner to do it (Harris)... :)
