Not sure about the declaration, it gives a good Queensland batting line up plenty of time to get the runs. Oh well, we will just have to bowl them out :)

will ryan harris bat ?
can andrew symonds bat for a long time with a bad knee ?, looked in discomfort today
both teams want 6 points & i think the declaration is spot on as it gives them a sniff but it also gives us time to get them out

i think if qld are good enough to average 110 a session tomorrow on a 4th day pitch & win good luck to them, i'd think sa or a draw will be the result

Stupid declaration. Redback have completely outplayed Qld in this match so far so WHY give them a reasonable target to chase?
Surely Qld would chase any target set bcos they've got nothing to lose and everything to gain so WHY not make it harder than they have? SA dont owe Qld any favours with sporting declarations.
SA should win reguardless but if they lose they deserve to finish bottom and be ridiculed.

Its more about having enough time to bowl them out. Redbacks have nothing to loose by giving QLD a target, I mean its not like they're fighting for a finals spot, so why not ensure that we have enough time to bowl them out and give them a target they they will need to push for which will create chances. by batting them out of the game, maybe we get a draw at best, so what good is that?????

I think u missed my point
Qld were going to chase whatever target was set, so the harder it was, the more risks they are going to take and the more likely of them losing wickets quicker. i'm talking about 30 - 40 runs more but if SA are any good it shouldn't matter anyway.

What would you have suggested jim? Bat until lunch and then expect Queensland try and slog 400 in 2 sessions?

We needed time to bowl them out and we have 3 wickets already so it's a decent enough start.

 cant u blokes read? 30 - 40 more runs = about 370 lead. (which they would've got if they batted a bit more sensibly late yesterday)
U expect Qld just to block out a draw if the target was a bit too hard? Get real.
At least i posted my thoughts b4 the start of the run chase and NOT wait to see how it goes and then make a comment.

I see your point, as i agree we couldve batted far better last night and easily mustered another 30-40 and still declared at the same time. But why be so critical all the time. If they want to prove that they shouldnt be on the bottom of the ladder, then they have to be capable be able roll Qld whom has 2 blokes less than half fit for under 300.

4/175 at Tea
these two looking very solid and upped the run rate a bit.
Carseldine 60*
Hartley 34*

Still 160 to get, are they still a chance?? It'd take a miracle i would have thought.

Need 160 off 33 overs @ 4.85/over with 6 wickets in hand including Harris who is injured.

seems a bit mystifying to me to BUT
over 65.4 Cosgrove to Hartley, no run, beaten by a VICIOUS OFFIE that he missed by some distance.
Didn't realise Cossie was bowling spinners these days.
Go Cossie.

The Redbacks have the ability to snatch defeat out of the hands of victory. It's good night Charlie IMO. :(

haberfield is back on bowling now so not sure why he hadn't bowled for such a long period? It looks like this one will end up in a draw which is a sad way for the game to end on our behalf. If we can't bowl a side out on the fourth day then we don't deserve to win. Bailey hasn't backed up his first innings bag at all and currently has 16 overs none fa 61.

Its always harder to bowl a team out the second time. And with our attack of habberfield, george, cleary we just arnt capable atm..... but their a promising signs to come from the game....

*we made a big first innings total
*we had batsmen go on and make 100's after getting a start
*We restricted the Bulls with a young attack, injuries or not you still need to get the batsman out
*cossie is back
*bails took wickets
*Jake and Georgie are getting experience and showing they have potential
