Interestingly, given the parlous state of cricket in the 1980s, we only had one One Test Wonder during that decade - Simon Davis.
During the 70s, we had eight (some of that could be attributed to the WSC era), while the 30s also had a similar number (only one of which could be attributed to a career cut short by WWII).

It would be good to comprise a list of the best XI to have never represented Australia.

Of course Jamie Siddons would be the obvious captain.

Until Jamie Siddons, Queensland's Sam Trimble was regarded as the best player never to have played Tests.

In some quarters, KG Cunningham was regarded as unlucky.

James Brayshaw is statistically unlucky

His first class career would have him in the side no problems these days.

Not sure of the accuracy, but I did once hear that of all the blokes in history to average 50 at first class level, D. Hussey is the only one to not play test cricket.
