WCP's mate Tom Plant just out infront of a McKay delivery for 48.
A 192 ball 48, gritty innings - is it enough to keep him in and keep out Cosgrove/Kahn/Christian?
You don't think D Harris and C Borgas would have more to worry about? Score page hasn't updated yet but it shows 3/139 on the main page so I think CB is gone for 1.
A gritty opener who can stick around is what we need. He'll score faster as his confidence grows....

Ferguson is becoming increasingly frustrating - he does know how to build an innings, he made a few hundreds over in lower English divisions earlier on in the year (according to posts by WCP) but appears he hasn't packed that form up and brought it back to Australia with him...
I'm not sure of the circumstances of the run-out, but at least he has got some form of a start.

Apparently got hit on the pad moved out of the crease and sort of set off for a run and quiney swooped on it and he was run out

our kids need to learn you play Shield cricket for 6 points not 2
Dutchy wrote:Fair dinkum, if they have the same attitude as the posters here we wont be winning a Shield for decades![]()
I can see it all now, we make 500 get the 2 points and it will be back slapping and beer drinking celebrations tomorrow night![]()
FFS we are in a serious competition, what better way to develop our players than put them in a pressure cooker situation and see the real players develop, chasing 2 points and being satisfied with that will prove ziltch....
Hawthorn would have never won this years premiership if they were happy to defend defend defend and finish in the top 8....
