Darren Lehmann fined for CA Code of Behaviour breach
Cricket Australia (CA) has today advised that Queensland Bulls coach Darren Lehmann was fined $2000 for breaching the CA Code of Behaviour during the Bupa Sheffield Shield Final that ended at the Gabba today.
Lehmann was reported on day three (yesterday) for an offence under Rule 5 relating to “Laws of Cricket and Spirit of the Game”. Lehmann approached umpires Bruce Oxenford and Simon Fry after the pair had stopped play due to bad light with Tasmania 6-136 in its second innings. The incident occurred between the boundary line and players' race and both umpires considered Lehmann's actions and language contrary to the spirit of the game.
At a hearing at the end of the match today, Lehmann pleaded guilty and fined $2000 by Code of Conduct Commissioner Kevin Kelso.
