Would be nice if all Test matches were played on pitches like this one
It was rivetting viewing all night
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTEYN V PUP
This duel was Test Cricket at its best
SssSsSsSsSsSSSSteyn made Pup look vulnerable early peppering him with very fast short pitched bowling
SsSsSsSssSsSteyns deliveries reminded me of the stuff the late great MALcolm Marshall used to bowl
SSSSSSSsSsSSsSssssSteyn gave Clark a couple of verbal lashings and was all over the Aussie skipper
I must admit at the time, I had thought it was as Garth Porter once sang '' Its just a matter of time''
With Australia on its knees Clarke played one the greatest innings by an Australian batsman
That he went on to make a 107* at almost a run a ball in extreme bowling conditions was superb
Pups driving was Jack Brabhamesque !
SSSSSSSSSSSSSsSsSsSsSssSsSsSteyn , I knew this guy was the real deal after watching him for a half an hour once
On decks like this he is the most dangerous fast bowler in the galaxy
Pup and SsSsSsSssSsSsSsSssSssSSsSteyn will most likley front up against each other first thing day 2
Cant wait to see the duel, I got a feeling the SA quick will get him early though

1 billion % agree,

was great to see batsmen EARN their runs and therefore Clarkes hundred rates very highly on my list of best innings i have seen.

Pitches like this is what test cricket needs if its going to survive the T20 onslaught!

T20 batsmen dream lets make Test cricket a true test of a batsmens all round ability.

Spot on! Test matches are great viewing when every ball, there is just as much chance it going for 4 as there is dismissing a batsmen.

Watching last night i was dissappointed i had to go to bed at 3/40 as it was shaping then as a great struggle and test of mental strength.

REAL Cricket no doubt about it. If we can somehow fashion another fifty runs we are back in this match. I reckon the Aussies need a dicey wicket as our attack isn't too flash. We won't be winning too many matches on good batting decks which makes us a bit of a dodgy proposition in home series for a while IMO.
