So the answer is Yes, he failed, 22 is worth nothing at that level, get a start and go on with it, which I think he has failed to do so many times, but as you say, our top run scorer for the year, so his season has been OK. Not sure of his average, but if he has only made 550 runs, in about 18-20 innings, that means average around 30 including not outs. That is not great and I guess shows why we are non competitive.

Spot on.
Your top order need to be making 700+ to be competitive. Too many guys get good starts but dont go on with it.
I dont know the figure but I would be suprised if we had 10 hundereds scored for the season.

Harris 1
Klinger 1
Blizzard 2
Ferguson 1
Christian 1
Manou 1/2

players like christian and obrien need to lift there average to 30+. how would Duval go at 6? put christian 8 and obrien 9? then lyon george and richardson fighting for 10 - 11
The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

The ablility to take wickets...

Rob Cassell was a better option.

No way can we play two spinners with our current batting, they tried it in Perth and look what happened. Duval I know they had big wraps on with his bowling, but hasn't torn through Grade attacks, bit injury prone as well. I think they have discounted him and betting on Richo, Georgie, Habers, Puts and our imports. Would not surprise if he loses his contract next year when they bring in a new flood of REBS rebels. Problem is, we have no top order batter that bowls at that level, sure they all bowl in Grade, but different level they get sorted pretty quickly. Then with Dan the man not making good runs, it puts them in a difficult spot.

Bays, good question, from what I have been told, bowls in the 130's with good shape and can bat, definately lower order though. So the answer is, I don't know, perhaps MP sums it up best, the ability to take wickets.
