And he's played international cricket.
So with those 2 in mind, I'd say he's welcome to these forums.

Why don't they just pluck Nathan Adcock and put him in the Green and Gold?

Can't be any worse than Hastings... ;)

Too much left to too few again tonight.
And to think we get to add a half fit ponting to that middle order.

That 34,393 is the second highest ODI attendance at Adelaide Oval, behind 34,898 between the same sides, 30/1/1983.

Edit: Only 1,679 less than the Sydney crowd on Sunday.

Bullcrap, his bowling is expensive and his batting is overrated.

The Hastings bashing is hilarious.
He's played a handful of games and because he hasn't dominated he's the worst ever or some knee-jerk nonsense

White deserves most criticism for being so painfully slow then trying to be too precise when finally trying to get a move on.

Why not.
It's obviously not important to have a captain who is performing.

I think most of the comments stem from the fact that Christian is better performed and deserves a shot more than Hastings, not how little he's done since being picked for AUS.

The comparison is fair IMO.

Hastings really hasn't done anything domestically to deserve a call-up, and his bowling has been expensive (so on par with DC).

DC at least bashes runs in the state comps... He's gotta be ahead of Hastings in most peoples pecking orders...

Mind you, if Hastings has a WC to remember, then we'll all pop in to the apology thread... ;)

And Hastings is what ?
Did you see his shot tonight ? His batting since being picked looks very ordinary.
His bowling isn't any more economical than Christian so how can you criticise ?

Yes, I did see his shot and it was crap (and so were several from others you'd expect better from).
Was there something wrong with his batting the other night with D Hussey?
Apart from a couple of loose swings he looked calm and solid in his technique.

I'd concede there isn't a big difference between him and Christian at the moment.
He's got picked first though and has the rest of the series to be at least serviceable to keep his spot.

AU 7/278
WATSON 64[72] Where would we be without him, most improved cricketer in thE world, who possibly could have said he would be so good ....
HADDIN 20[16] plays for the team not his average
MARSH 1[6] Batted like Graeme Pollock 3 starts ago at 6, should be batting 5/6
CLARKE 15 [27] oh dear , he is lucky Hussey. Ponting, and Tait are injured
WHITE 44[64] tad slow, should bat 3 where he excels
HUSSEY 28[34] handy
HASTINGS 1 [3] battles hard
SMITH 46*[47] what a game after 3/33 , the selectors are being rewarded
LEE 39*[32] goodonya Binga

Binga and Smith out on a 77 partnership, great late effort
Good score 7/278 beaten but not disgraced

MY 3-2-1 VOTES

3 TROTT 102
2 SMITH 3/33 + 46*
1 HUSSEY 4/21 + 28

WATSON 64 , PRIOR 67 also played very well

Series alive 3-1
SUMMER SCORE is now
NSW/VIC 5
ENG/SAFR 5

No mention on when the batting powerplay was, or should I say, wasn't taken ?
Can you tell me when White has excelled at 3 please MAL ?
Barring injuries are you willing to conceed that Clarke's time might be up ?

And the World Cup.
It's probably more anti HIlditch directed at Hastings than anything.
I mean he came out in the press and said he selected him because of his height FFS.

I hope so... Even with the stats I pulled up the other day, he's not up to the task...

Only thing is with an injured Ponting, they'll give CLUCK a longer time to survive and bat himself back into form...

2009 England
White batting at 3 in ODI
53[71]
42[66]
105[124]
Then Ponting came back the 4th ODI

I reckon that 105 was the last time he batted at 3 ???

IF CLARKE is dropped NOW
He ends up with an ODI average of about 44
The selectors will rightly stick with him, until at least the end of the series
He only made 15 tonight but he did look in good touch

HASTINGS
Is in the hot seat
I like Big John, but he might end up being a Papa Guiseppe pizza , keeps getting picked , but is not delivering
I think he should get 1-2 more games as he is a good player for VI
