Watson first came on the scene as a good bat and a dumb but flashy bowler. Now his bowling has improved out of sight and he's become the smart, experienced tactically astute bowler his batting in tests needs. If he can just add that to his batting in tests he'll become one heck of a player.

NFC would've had several kittens tonight.

I fought almost a lone hand for the iconic, legendary, safooty allrounder, when he started
If NFC had kittens, then I had Michael Clarkes....

Why pick Steve Smith? Why not pick a Christian or even a Cosgrove? Smith is a gun fielder but he is an average bat and didnt bowl tonight either. Why play the 3 quicks? Lee shouldnt be in the side IMO, i think he is past it.

Tait and lee went for 81 off 8
I honestly think 2 quicks are a waste. Noticed in most t20's the slower bowlers generally perform better than the quicks.
If smith doesnt bowl he shouldnt be in team

PERSPECTIVE
AU 4/158
EG 9/159

What a calamity when the side that loses 5 more wickets wins the games

PAINE should not be in this team unless he opens, and heez the vice captain
FINCH should no be in this team unless he opens

WHITE/WARNER/HUSSEY need to stop pushing at balls and hit them
Theyve all played long enough to realise this game

CHRISTIAN/BIRT/FERGUSON/pollard are superior middle to late order batsman compared rto FINCH/PAINE
HODGE would have watched WARNER and been humilated

B4 you all snipe me on PAINE
He has made a name as a sensational domestic batsman as an opener
To bat him late order in 20/20s is like making Tony Lockett play half back flank

Once again piss poor batting cost AU the game

AND
That first ball should be on a vynil record

No point being 4 down in a T20 if you only post 158.
Hussey was very slow when batting and only took a risk when the crowd started jeering.
He faced 4 and a half overs for 28 runs......if they were bowlers figures they'd be happy.
White was clearly out playing a stupid shot cause of Hussey going too slow and Finch wasn't much better.

Can't remember Hussey doing too much at a higher level than playing for Victoria,,, could he just be a state bully like his mate Hodge ???????

Agree with Paine,,, number 3 at worst unless he had issues with his finger ?

Smithy if AU was 3/33 off 6 overs and lost 1 more wicket then 4/158 is acceptable
Paul Collingwood did a good job of dragging AU back into the game as well, with his below par batting
He , on face value batted like a guy who needs runs [and heez thier skipper !!!]

Did AU do thier homework?
Adelaide Oval has suited slow bowlers in 20/20 in domestic games, especially in the 2nd digs
I think White may have erred not bowling OKEEFE towards the end[but thats hindsight on my behalf as well]
Bowling figures
watto 4/15
okeefe 1/16
hussey 1/14

People ask for new guys to come onto the scene, so they get Paine and Smith being pushed ahead before they earn the spots, then people complain about those guys getting games. I'd personally not be picking Paine ahead of Haddin in any form of the game. Anyone who says Paine will be a great test captain is living in la la land just looking at someone's age and asuming from that they know how they play. And as for Smith, everyone sees blonde haired leggie and thinks Warne. Just like when White first came along. Smith will never be an international standard bowler. Like White he will be, at best, a first choice batsman and part time bowler. As bowlers they are Greg Blewett, Steve/Mark Waugh standard bowlers.

Tait should be written off. Lee is a far better prospect. Bats better, fields better and had a good record over a long time. Tait had a few good games and one good series. I've never been a Lee fan, he has the worst record of any bowler with more than 200 test wickets but he's a million miles ahead of Tait.

As for the suggestion Pollard should be playing, not sure if you've noticed, but he's West Indian......

That's my point MAL - We were 0/83 after 9 overs.

Husseys batting was unacceptable tonight.

Cosgrove is obviously a liability in the field but he can hit a ball and score reasonably quickly, surely more value than Smith? Sub him off in the field if you have to. Finch was very slow between the wickets tonight as well i thought.

I reckon Huss has a few credits in the bank when it comes to 20/20. Has played a few good knocks.

Paine should be in but was batting too low simple as that. Better than Smith and Finch.

Lee hasn't changed, Quick half volleys dont work anymore Bing and neither does the short one. (Morgan says thanks)

Wouldn't be playing Smith personally and what was Warner doing! His break out 80+ has done him more harm than good i reckon.

What about George Bailey?? Must be up for consideration
