Get over O'Keefe. Not even good enough to make the NSW team let alone the AUS team.

Of course okeefe cant get into nsw. They are not going to play 3 spinners. They cant drop hauritz or golden boy smith. Now that smith is playing for australia, okeefe will get some game time and prove how far of hauritz he is.
Hauritz absolute rubbish.
Ps to all the people sticking up for hauritz i bet you were all the ones who was calling for his head in the last 6 months

I think they've all realised that Hauritz is the best we've got.

It cant hurt to try. I will be the first to put my hand up if he fails but i see something special in him he just needs a go. As i said with smith out of the way he just needs to keep getting results and who knows what will happen. He must be in selectors sights becauase they picked him for aus A and have picked him again for PM match at canberra. Just frustrates me that the selectors have gone over the top of him and picked firstly doherty and then a dud who cant even get wickets for wa. Only gets a gig cos warne mentions him. Id rather hauritz play at least he is doing ok at ss level

See where Swann said the Poms were very surprised and pleased the Aussies never selected Hauritz for the series. I think he's right. Hauritz, whilst no Shane Warne, is clearly the best spin bowler in Australia. He should have played.

Nut sure if Swan's comments are motivated by any genuine benevolence towards Hauritz, more likely a chance to sink the boot in to Australian cricket by pointing out a well known issue (the spinners spot).
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

He is right and he rememebrs Hauritz out-bowling him in the last Ashes series in England.

The selectors screwed him over in that series last time so much so Hilditch came out and apologised for not picking him in the 5th Test and they've gone and screwed him over again this time around. Xavier Doherty? F__kin clowns.

I get the feeling that the poms are still smashed after their week of "retaining the ashes celebrations", and that we might get a victory because of their hangover. Time will tell...

They'll be fine, Swann, Bresnan, Finn, Prior and Anderson were the only guys out past 1am after the Melbourne test, and even then they'd finished up by 3.

Glad we are batting even though we like to collapse early, excited to see Usman make his debut.

Just on that, does anybody know the last time a player made his debut at number 3?

Justin Langer back in 1993, in the Adelaide Test, v the West Indies when we lost by 1 run. He made 20 then 54 in the second innings.

Poms are appealling for eveything, it's starting to get annoying. Tremlett's bowling beautifully, how Finn got a spot ahead of him is a mystery.

Appeal number 50, and the obligatory committee meeting for review but still no wickets.

Two great shots by Hughes. 0/28.

I notice Hughes wearing a black arm band, what's the story there?

Aussies being far more patient this test. They would have nicked or played at them earlier in series.

They are talking about Ponting looking frustrated missing a Test with a broken pinky. What would be frustrating him even more would be the fact that the openers are making a start, and it would have made his job a little easier.
