Marsh is a gun. I believe the selectors have him earmarked but i think he is probably 3rd or 4th in line but he will play for australia in the next year or two

A gun? Most over rated 4 day player in the last 5 years IMO. His record is mediocre! Has amazing potential but is not a chance at the moment!

I would think klinger, Hughes, Jacques, Rogers, broad, cowan are ahead of him in the opening stakes

Don't get me wrong... I'd love to see either of them in there, if an openers slot came about, but I can't see it happening... :(

I think u guys have mistaken me im talking about mitch marsh not shaun marsh. Id be suprised if mitch has been playin for 5 years and played 50 games. I remember watching him for aus u19's and that seemed like only a year or so ago. Dont think shaun will play tests but think mitch will and i think the selectors would have him in their top 3 or 4. As much as i hate to say it i reckon klinger has missed boat aswell

SA 8/452
WA 295 + 0/17

Geez it was bloody cold at the cricket today
The whole day belonged to Shaun Marsh who made a sweet 137[240]
The star studded WA batting line up didnt get going against what can be best described as an honest attack
WA 0/87 were well posied to make a biggy, but were very ordinary
VOGES looked safe, RONCHI threatened but it didnt happen for WA
MARSH going from 95 to 101 with a massive on drive was the highlight

MARSH
My opinon is that he is a smooth player but no star
Despite making 137 I dont think he is a SS or TEST opener
When the shine was off the ball today he looked inpregnable
But he looked iffy against the 2nd new ball, and the 2nd innings as well
Batting at 4 is his spot, I think he will be more consistent, and more value
As an opener he may end up being a hit and miss batsman in the longer forms of the game

WA INTERNATIONALS
MJ 3/120 + 0
HUSSEY 0
NORTH 0/23 + 10

RESULT
Prob a daw, despite about 120 overs to be bowled TOMorrow
SA bowlers buttering up after bowling 92.5 overs today
They have to front up TOMorrow for another stint
Surely the WA batters as a unit will click this time

went down for a while as i thought i could see michael hussey bat & instead of being the usual $30.00-$40.00 to pay to watch him play (test cricket) it was (as all shield games are) free entry & michael hussey faced 1 ball, was good to catch up with mal who is looking more & more like nigel bruce everytime i see him, i thought that our bowlers with the exception of o'brien bowled very ordinary (too many too short) but fortuneately their batsmen were worse with marsh the exception although he batted very slowly in the middle session, some interesting field placings today yet the scoreboard says it worked
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

i dont think the poms will be pissing themselves, they will want Hussey and North making runs because they will want both in the side come the 25th, Swan is the key to the poms and he is alot better bowling at Left handers than righ handers. so in saying thats i think one of the two may be dropped for that reason.
