There is no need for a bowling all-rounder!!!

Surely he isn't far away from an Ashes call up.

Yeah, let's bring this guy in....

He's more of a bowling all-rounder anyway. I'd play him instead of Hauritz.

I'd play Chris Matthews and Glen trimble in front of Hauritz.
And that's on current form.

Agreed hauritz is a muppet. Who says we have to play a spinner at gabba. Play 4 quicks and rattle the poms early. If some spin required use clarke, kat or north if he makes the team. I thought north was 10 times better than hauritz in india and i rate clarkeys bowling.

McDonald - 9 overs 1/11
We probably don't need someone in our team bowling this well.
I'd prefer Mitchell Johnson going at 5 or 6 an over and taking the odd wicket.

Id take mitch over ronald mcdonald anytime. Johnno will end up with most wickets for series i reckon. He sprays a few but has days where he is unplayable. He is a far better bowler in aus

McDonald - 4 tests..

Batting 6 innings, highest score of 68, aggregate of 107, average of 21.40 with a strike rate of 49.30.

Take out his highest score thats a measly 39 runs in 5 digs @ 7.8 WOW!

Bowling 9 wickets at 33.33, best bowling for a match 3/72, considering he bowled in 7 innings, and 3 came in 1 innings thats a piss poor 1 wicket per innings

you talk about his "heroics" in SA...

0, 7, 4*, DNB, 13, 68 ....

Hughes hit twin tons in the 2nd test, Siddle 5 fa for the match with 4 to Johnson and 3 to Kat
Marcus North hit a ton in the 3rd test, Mitch Johnson hit 96 and took 8 fa for the match inc going for a touch over 1 an over in the 1st innings.

Agreed BUT I don't think form matters much with Hughes, he's the sort of bloke who might never be in good or bad form, he's just as likely to score a ton as he is a duck. He's a unique player, I'd have him in my test side anyday. A real X-factor, a match winner, unpredictable and inconsistent sure, but he wins matches.

McDonald hasn't taken wickets either Pidge. At least Hauritz provides variation. If Horrie goes it's for another spinner not someone who looks out of his depth at test level. No Ronald McDonald mate, he aint the answer.

Does that matter?

113 out of 263 is a pretty good effort.

Nice to see the bloke I've been bagging all thread has sunk the Bluebaggers! Still, as long as he doesn't spud it up in Baggy Green I can cop it.
