Playing for, I believe, a club in Tassie, Watto belted a triple ton, then ripped out 7/not a lot.

Hope he does it in the reverse here...

What could be the defining moment of this Test.
Ponting's 1st ball, Pads up to Amir, massive shout for LBW and Rudi turn it down.
Replays show it would have bowled him. Not the worst decision an umpire could give but when the same umpire has given 2 other blokes out LBW this match to balls that looked to be clearly missing the stumps, well, lets be thankful this is his last match.
If Ponting gets to 50, i think the Pakistanis will lose their belief and Australia will win comfortably.

Watson gave us a hope, now Ponting and Clarke have to put the Pakis under pressure. When the lead starts to grow, if Australia have wickets in hand, the Pakis might not respond so well.

Jarrod Kimber
Love the article on the happenings of day 2

PONTING
He might be old and past his peak but the skipper is fighting hard for his nation
Survived a couple of very very close LBW appeals very early in his dig
But once settled he showed why he is only the 2nd person ever to make 12000 Test runs

MATCH
AU 36 behind
8 wickets left
PA to bat last on this deck
This match is now slightly in AU favour

AU will eying off a score close to 400
A lead of 230 may be suffice to win this match
A lead of 190 would be very competitive

WATTO
Single handedly dragged the Aussies off the canvas
Until his superb bowling effort no Aussie had made a contribution of sorts in this game
What a package the chosen one is
His last 12 months or so as the opening bat/allrounder have been some of the best by any cricketer who has ever played
To average about 50 as an opener
To average about 25 with the ball
Those stats are simply awesome
A few allrounders have done it similar and for longer
But has there ever been an allrounder that opened the batting and bowled 4th change like he has ?
But he will always have his detractors
A few more batting failures, a couple of poor bowling efforts,or a pulled hammy and they will all start at him again
But 4 the time being he is an awesome player
NFC said the best player in the world
If you think that comment is absurd, think of it this way , what player has played better in the last 12-18 months ?

Eags can back me up here but my prediction after day 1 was

Paki's out for 250.

We'd make 400

240 would be too much for them to chase.

I was 8 runs out on my Paki prediction and while there is still work to do that 400 is a possibility.

Very interesting match. Just a pity we have to make only 88 to make it so!!
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....
