WTF! We haven't been taking wickets all year. They'll probably still make 300.

REB your bowling line up is extremely good.

Bollinger and Clark would be playing test cricket in most countries.
Henriques and Hazlewood are up and coming stars.
Plus, NSW won the toss, it must be a minefield ;)

WA 131
MARSH.M. 59*[70]
Bit embarrasing when a man on debut makes that many so swiftly and shows the way
DOUGGIE 3/33
DOC CLARK 2/31
HAZELWOOD 2/31 a star bowler of the future
HENrebIQUES 2/17

What a performance with the ball without Bracken and Watson ...
Good to see HENrebIQUES take wickets after I said he is an overated bowler last week

NS 0/45
HUNGRY JAQUES 16*
SCARDY CAT 28*
David Warner listed batting at 4

In the last week, have we just seen the start of an abosulte star of the future.

Mitch Marsh with a 60* (29) in the ODI and 59* (70) in the SS game when his side made 131.

Great week for the young lad and hopefully he can build on this week and have a great year in both forms of the game.

Remember this lad chose cricket ahead of a potential stellar AFL career after not nominating for the draft last year. (its carp when people are really good in both sports)

Mitch has a big backlift and hits em well so limited over cricket suits
I have not seen him in defensive mode
Will reserve judgement until them

Most guys choose the AFL path so it's great to see Mitch go the other way. If i was good enough at either to be forced to make the choice i know i'd take the possibility of earning a baggy green over a guaranteed spot in an AFL side.

A.McDonald continues to perform at state level and should be reguarded as the best all rounder in Australia. Hopefully wont be long until he is back in the test team. Today he bowled the Vics to victory 20.3 overs 4/37.

WA 131... M MARSH 59*... RONCHI 17...doug 3/33
NS 274... HUGHES 58...KHAWAJA 39... D SMITH 52...HENrebIQUES 52...KNOWLES 4/99...WARNER 0
WA 9/245 DEC.. HOGAN RETIRED HURT ....S MARSH 94 ...doug 5/68
NS 2/105 ...HUGHES 0  JAQUES 54* ...KHAWAJA 41

NS win outright, and the WA batsman again an unpredictable unit
S MARSH was the only batter to get above 60 in this game [just to keep Cover King happy ]
BOLLINGER with match figures of 8/101 was the match winner

QUESTION
Were WA shortchanged ?
BOLLINGER was the 12th man in Brisbane for AU , and was flown back to play for NS
WA would not be impressed ?
I think it is a good ruling to allow the 12th man to play in the domestic comps

_________________________________________________________________________________________

VI 378....THE DAVE 174 [183] wow....MCKAY 55...CUTTING 4/60...WALTER 4/96
QL 195....REARDON 58 ...DORAN 23[in the side for his batting ?]...MCKAY 3/60
QL 133....CARSELDINE 27 top score...MCDONALD 4/37 ...HASTINGS 4/30

THE DAVE the matchwinner
DORAN 0/91[ mayz cant believe he gets a game and I agree]
Agree with the cadet, Mcdonald is unlucky not be playing against the WI

MAL, as soon as i wrote the stuff about S.Marsh and his lack of runs in 4 day cricket, i think it was a monty that he was going to hit some runs in the second dig. It always works that way!

With Doran, in the QLD v WI thread i questioned how he keeps getting a game, he continually gets the 2nd spinner role and continually gets smashed all around the ground. But he could now be in the side as a batter because his bowling is POO. Lack of spinners in QLD and if i were Cullen Bailey, i would seriously consider a move to the GABBA.

Great win and fightback by the VICS after being well behind on day 1 until the DAVE played the innings of his career..

Some good signs for Australian cricket have come out of these 2 sheffield shield games, with McDonald, Hasting, Bollinger showing the depth of Australian fast bowlers at present!

Shaun Marsh is a quirky one
On WA form he should not get a baggy green gig in ODIS
But the selectors are genuises, as he makes runs in the ODIS

The only reason I can think of is that the harder o/d pitches at home are harder to bat on ?
The ODIs are often very good batting strips

Hilfy and Sizzle will have to keep taking Test wickets or bowl well becoz Dougie is bowling very very well

Decent match for Usman, 39 and 41, both slightly quicker than usual and he spanked plenty of fours which is good.

On first name basis now NFC ;)

How old is this fella? extremely bright future this lad has, and it looks like that in the future the NSW will be dominating the AUS sides for many more years to come with the likes of Hazlewood, Hughes, Khuwaja, Henriques, S.Smith, Clarke, Watson (last two only 28)
