Is he worth the risk anymore? Seems the slower you bowl the better off you are in t20. Glad we chose Thomas.

No not at all. I love the bloke. Just wanted to know what people think about us not chasing his signature and whether he is still worth the risk with the way the game is evolving with slower bowlers.

When he gets wickets he looks like a champ but when he doesn't he looks like a dud.

Don't really care he left Adelaide.

In T20 cricket he doesn't hold much value because he's lost pace and bowls much more predictably these days, his 'Wild Thing' days are way behind him which is why he had to take a pay cut to remain with Rajasthan in the IPL (about $100K a year I think).

I can still remember the Shaun Tait that blew teams away at the '07 ODI World Cup, he's just not the same bowler anymore.

I will never forget the t20 against tassie 2 years ago. We made around 128 after being 0/60
I think. Shaun tait managed 2 wickets from 0.2 overs to start the game

Sure as hell the Strikers dont have a bowler that can create an electric atmosphere like Taity did that night.
Medium pacers and spinners - although they may do a job for the team, nothing excites a crowd more than a Gun FAST bowler charging in to a batsman shitting himself at the same time as he's trying to hit him out of the park.
And that aint what the Strikers have got any more.

Last year the Adelaide public were able to witness 3 world class excitement machines in their local team, Pollard Afridi and Taity.
This year - NONE .

Doesn't mean the Adelaide Stinkers wont win the title but i thought the whole concept of this new Big Wank Bash was purely for Entertaining the crowd, especially a new generation of young kids.

I remember an interview with Clive Lloyd circa 1980. He said that to play one day cricket, the bowlers needed to bowl within themselves and bowl line and length, and sacrifice pace for line and length.

They had the most fearsome attack in the world yet bowled within themselves for many years at direction. Yet when we talk about Tait we say he should bowl flat out. Rubbish. Line and length beats flat out pace any day.

He might take wickets, but he'll also cost you a lot of runs and last time I looked that's what one day cricket and subsequently T20 was all about.

In a ODI I'd rather 0-20 than 3-80.

Shaun Tait is struggling. He is not moving the ball as much as he used to. He OS a liability in the field and with the bat. I don't think playing 20/20 has extended his career I think he has limited it.

Here we go again ...
Lets go thru his 20/20 career

INTERNATIONALS
28 WKTS
498 RUNS
17-78 AVE
15.35 STRIKE RATE
6.94 ECONOMY

20/20 CAREER NON INTERNATIONALS
94 WKTS
2011 RUNS
21.39 AVE
16.43 STRIKE RATE
7.80 ECONOMY

Impressive career in this format for a bloke who has as many faults as I read about on SAFOOTY
He has had an ordinary start to his 2 games this season
He can still bowl very fast, and I reckon he will be better for the 2 games played
Im not going to judge him until the end of the season

Dont like the guy, think he has taken the very easy option of making money (some say thats smart) however I thought he bowled well in his last game and still has it, if he was still here in Adelaide everyone would be doing cartwheels instead of slamming him
