Prime Ministers XI

Some of Australia’s best young talent will be pushing for World Cup selection when they take on England in the annual Prime Minister’s XI match at Manuka Oval on January 10 next year.

The 2011 Prime Minister’s XI match is shaping up to be one of the most important in Australia’s defence of the ICC Cricket World Cup.

The Prime Minister’s XI team is:

Tim Paine (TAS - Captain) , Callum Ferguson (SA - Vice captain), Dan Christian (SA), Xavier Doherty (TAS), Josh Hazlewood (NSW), Alex Keath (VIC), Usman Khawaja (NSW), Brett Lee (NSW), Tom Thornton (ACT), Nic Maddinson (NSW), Mitchell Starc (NSW), Josh Anderson (ACT 12th man)

Should be playing in this...he needs to focus on getting that Baggy Green..he is Australia's middle order future and I would have him ahead of Fergy in the pecking list too (even if hes a funny looking dude)

Decent score to defend, not sure we really learned anything new. Paine hits them clean enough early but doesn't go on with it, Ferguson steadies the ship a little, Christian can hit the ball clean and Brett Lee is often good for some runs down the order.

Would be nice to see one of the kids bowl really well. One really good spell of bowling could just about be enough with a good score like that.

Our total was increased by 3 runs because of mr duckworth and mr Lewis

Eng 0/56 off 7 overs

Davies dropped off lee by khawaja before he hit 10

Bowlers getting belted. None of them can go for less than 5 an over, and few seem to be looking like taking wickets. Run a ball with 9 wickets in hand.
