I'm on a cricket mailing list (Yahoo Groups) and I thought I'd share an email from an Englishman who is great to read.
Breaking news from Cricinfo - England have named an unchanged side.
Monty should see if his grandparentage qualifies him to play for India
where they traditionally appreciate topclass spinners.
Boycott is right - Fletcher's day is over. (Kevin Shine's would be too
if he'd ever had one).
Down with the specialists! Strauss needs to go back to the county game
and work on his left-arm spin, Cook on his slip-catching, Hoggard his
strokeplay.
England XI in the meantime: McGrath (Tony, that is), Prior (wk), Yardy,
Irani (capt), Clarke (yes, of course Rikki), Blackwell, Jones (wk -
can't have too many), Hamilton (never too late), Batty, Bresnan, Kabir Ali.
Unfortunately, England have won the toss, so Ponting won't have the
option this time of not enforcing the follow-on. At least if the game
does by any chance go into a fourth innings Pietersen will have a
turning pitch to bowl on.
Cricket is one of the very few things I hardly ever get this angry about.
