COSSIE YOU GUN.

That should do the trick. ;)

Yep it did. Didn't take long either.

A bit hard to knock a bloke who's just scored a ton. Pretty good innning coming of three quackers too. I still don't rate him anywhere nearly as high as some Redbacks fans though for obvious reasons.

Since selection for the Test Squad Steve Smith has got a ton and 6/64 in the second innings and Bowled the Blues to a innings win....

SA 2/184
A defining moment in Australian history
James Smith was C KATICH B S SMITH
I had posted that with a  when it happened today[becz he gotta wicket !!!]
That wicket is quite likely to be the catalyst that will affect AU cricket
The ramifications could be enourmous

STEVE SMITH
has made a few tons this year
has shown us he is quite possibly the most outstanding outfielder we will see in our lifetimes
but as a bowler useless in the SS format

today it changed
after the J SMITH wicket S.SMITH exploded
7/64[16]
SMITH took the last 7 wickets to a bowler, the other was Cleary being run out

Now he has shown in the SS
he can be a brilliant batter
amazing fielder
and can take wickets

RAMIFICATIONS
Hauritz now has an hier apparent
Okeefe until this SA 2nd innings was the next spinner on the rack
Smith to get a baggy green sooner than expected

Only got the tail out (albeit a very long one). I think that Smith could turn out like Cameron White. Extremely good batsman but average bowler who will probably end up as a batsman in the Australian team and his bowling falls by the wayside. Hope Im wrong though and he becomes a very good all-rounder.

4 words sum it up heads need to roll

getting sick of these horrid performances, seems like all other States seem to get these "boom" players come along, we grab on occasions rejects from other states, there are a couple of exceptions, question must be asked is why these performances keep happening year in, year out.

As for Cosgrove, give credit where credits due, he did play a blinder today and probably saved his career with SA

Drives me insane, I didnt think we had such a bad year, and we still managed to finish last in FR and SS.
Cossie - prodigious talent, but his physique is always going to leave him vulnerable to injury and an ability to play a long match winning innings ( in the 1st innings)
Harris - captaincy weighed him down towards the end but has a crack
Smith - I like him, he takes them on a bit and will get better
Borgas- averaged 40- done his job, but we missed ferguson coming into his prime.
How much of a diffrence would of R. harris and Tait made ? We also missed the steadiness and reliability of Cleary.
George, Haberfield and Putland are all good prospects but seemed to tire as the year went on, and they all need to learn to bat a bit. Every Tailender in a good team should average 10-12 not 3 from number 9.
Klinger - oustanding- for a guy who i thought was a wannabe and waste recruit - 2 years ago
Cooper- what happened - is he only a 1 day player
Christian has been great in all areas, one thing we can thank Rod Marsh for !
O"brien- handy cricketer
What kills us is depth. If someone gets injured we dont have the cover. Wise and Duval - try hard but arent going to run through anybody
Finishing on Brisbane and Sydney didnt help

It's been a tough year, but I implore you - don't lose the faith! Tough I know, but our major problem this year was our bowling. George showed enough to suggest he will be an excellent bowler in years to come - we may even lose him to national duties. O'Brien is easily the best spinner in the state, Christian has been good, however Haberfield and Putland need a lot more work. We didn't anticipate going the whole season without Ferg and Tait, that had a big influence. I"ve said this to mate many a time, we are not far away. Maybe we need to get young Lehmann and Nobes in the squad to give us some much needed excitement! :D

Young Nobes?? One or two hit wonder lol kidding yeah??
Cosgrove is the man to lead our state IMO. Peopl may bag him, but the facts are i think SA perform better when he does. He is someone that leads men, carries a team, and takes the game on, somethin Klinger fails to do. Yes we need a Klinger in our side, but Cossie/Smith/Fergy are the three men to lead our side into the final in the future.

You are kidding, surely. Of course SA performs better when HE does, as we do when most players perform. Leads men? Carries a team? Please, I can't handle the humour.

Cossie still would've hit 4 or 5 tons this year (across the 2 forms)..
At least when he gets going he gets to 3 firgures.
Harris, Smith, Borgas, O'Brien, Christian etc.. get starts and don't generally go on with it.
Who are the young batsmen coming through grade cricket to take the league by storm??

So Mal, Smith's effort last shield game where he took 7 wickets against TAS wasn't a career turner - went from 11 First class wickets to 18...

This game he has just continued on from the last game with respect to his bowling...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Agree with a few of these comments, particularly the one about Lehmann. Should be given a go next season, no doubt. Young Cam Francis should also get a full contract next season and be given opportunity to settle into the side, he will be a long term state player.

Cam Francis was playing B Grade at stages throughout this year!!!!!!!! he did finish the season reasonable but still no where near ready for State level

Someone mentioned nobes??? people get stuck into Cozzy about his weight, that fat little spoilt brat is still further away than Francis ps. his tantrum at perteringa this saturday was classic. Threw his gloves on the changroom roof, threw his bat from the car park and then was hitting it against the pole outside for another 5 mins

what i could not beleive was the interview with jamie cox in the sunday mail. basically saying that all sa should focus on is getting to the t20 champions league and that we qualified for that this season it was a job well done.

maybe he has to spin this line as he is also an employee of cricket australia so he has to help them puch teh only form of the game that seems to matter to most people now but i was very disappointed with his attitude
