Absolute superstar.

Would have to go down as one of the best left arm spinners ever.

Should be batting higher in the order as well imo.

And didnt he have the ability to bowl in excess of 145 aswell?

I'm not sure if you guys are taking the piss, it's just a memory I have that he was a promising fast bowler before doing a major injury (back/knee).

Don't know about a pace bowler SS - from the stories I can remember he was more of a medium-pace bowler, and was involved in a car accident in his early-mid teens.

Still a greater cricketer and really enjoy watching him play, his talents and his generally attitude.

New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori has put off surgery on his bowling shoulder, fearing it could keep him out of cricket for up to 12 months. Vettori suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder during the ICC World Twenty20 in June but has managed to bowl despite the pain and is currently among the best allrounders in world cricket.

"I can still bowl with it. It sometimes hurts but I can manage it," Vettori told the Waikato Times. "It's frustrating, but it's not stopping me from doing my main parts. Surgery would fix it but that would also mean six months to a year out. That's something I don't want to deal with."

Lucky for the Black Caps...could see them getting rolled by Bangladesh without him

As iv recently had both shoulders done in the last 18 months, the same injury on both. He will be able to get through it batting and bowling (will hurt slightly) but this is why he is unable to throw at present! Its a prick of an injury for someone that needs to throw so often as cricketers do...

For those who are fans of Vettori, here is an excellent article that I read when it was posted on Cricinfo back in October - 'Leave it to Dan' by Peter Roebuck. Written not long after NZ won the ICC Spirit of Cricket award for the 2nd time.
