At the moment this is there side:
Strauss - Been very good through out this series. New captain leading from the front.
Cook - Has the ability but been a bit hit and prehaps more miss in this series
Shah - Batting a 3??? WTF
Pietersen - Best Player in there side in my opinion. Has been looking alright in this series
Collingwood - Seems to make runs
Prior - Goes alright, useful with the bat. Completing with Ambrose for this spot. I think hes probably the go at the moment.
Broad - I dont rate him, A bit weak in my opinion,
Swann - No idea the moment.
Anderson - Well I dont know, Sometimes he goes well and can take wickets but then he comes on an bowls like and old lady
Panesar - Useful bowler in my opinion
Khan - No idea, only seen him bowl 4 overs and get killed by Gayle as many bowlers have in the past

In saying all of that they still made 500 odd.
The key in my opinion is the batting. Strauss, Cook, Pieterson and Collingwood.
I feel there missing Bell and flintoff.
There bowling doesnt look like they have enough to bowl a side out.

Of course they are going to miss Flintoff.

I dont know how much English Cricket you watch but they certainly do not miss Ian Bell. As much as i like him his form has been terrible of late and that is why he got dropped for Shah.

Broad is going to be a good player, Handy bat and improving as a bowler.

Panesar has only just come back into the side this test match and his form has been pretty ordinary as well. Swann has been going well and is a work horse but do not think he will do too much damage to a quality batting line up.

Prior and Ambrose is a tough one and they really need to settle on a keeper for more than a period of 3 months. They have probably had 4/5 keeper changes or more since the last Ashes. Prior is a very good bat but his keeping has obvious flaws IMO. Currently has let through 30 byes in the Windies first innings, I have not been watching for the last couple of nights so not sure whats happening with the pitch but that is a awful amount of byes.

61 Extras at the moment.

Nah mate I have not seen Bell's form of late, missed that, only have seen the last few matches. Still in form he would be one that they need.

Just how PATHETIC and off the mark was Strauss's declaration today?
Being down 1 - nil in the series and needing a win to level the series, Eng signalled their intentions by chasing quick runs late on the 4th day and early on the 5th day in an attempt to set the Windies an INVITING target to chase instead of them just blocking it out for a draw.
Strauss was asked b4 the start of play on the 5th day about his intentions and whilst he wouldn't indicate a target he was prepared to set, he did say that "we are prepared to lose to go for a win". I AGREE totally with that attitude BUT he thens bats on to the lunch break b4 declaring and setting the Windies 240 off 66 overs on a wearing last days pitch when they only needed a DRAW to secure the series.
With a run rate of 3.63 rpo required and with their main dasher in Gayle injured, what incentive was there to chase that target ???????
Fast forward to the last 5 overs and the W.I. are 8/113 and manage to last out for a draw.

Absolutley NFI Strauss. IDIOT.
Eng did the same in the 3rd test by batting on and on and on to a lead of well over 500 and in the end the W.I. were 9 down.
Obviously they didn't learn a thing from that.

Just cant believe that Eng couldn't win a test in that series after being in such good positions on quite a few occassions but when captains have got NFI about Declarations and using the Referral system to your advantage then they get what they deserved.

Yeah I tend agree with you, some very defensive declorations. England made plenty of runs in this series, but still should have done better.

The ODI tournament between West Indies and England is now already 2 games in and has already had some really interesting moments.

1st ODI

In amazing circumstances and a huge blunder from the West Indies coach they lost the first ODI by one run thanks to the Duckworth Lewis Method. WI thought they were ahead on the system and decided to take the light offered to them by the umpires only to find out later they were one run behind which gifted England a win in game 1.

Collingwood 69

Bravo 2/65 (10)
Pollard 2/45 (8)

West Indies

7/244

Sarwan 57
Chanderpaul 46 (30)

Broad 3/41 (9.2)

Windies have thrashed the pathetic poms in the 3rd ODI overnight.
Eng 117 (41.3 overs) after at one stage being 8/68.
W.I. 2/117 off only 14.4 overs with Gayle slaughtering the hapless pommie bowlers with 80 off only 43 balls with 8 sixes and 5 fours
Mascarenhas 0/24 off 1 over
