It's looking like the up coming IPL season will be moved to either South Africa, England or Abu Dhabi.

I wonder how the crowds will be given they have the 20/20 WC and then the Ashes. A lot of cricket coming up if they get the IPL as well.

I think it kinda shows almost how irrelevant the crowds are. I dare say this would be happening so as to avoid having to break their TV contracts around the world. In that article the big wig makes it clear that the games will still be beamed back into India at prime time. The TV audiences there would be huge and also throw in the fact while they still got pretty good crowds last season they did give away a lot of free tickets to lesser games just so it looked and sounded better on TV.

South Africa, England or Abu Dhabi.

This basically 100% confirms that the organisers of the IPL couldn't really give a rats a*se about how many people actually turn up to see these games - it is all about the almighty TV dollar.

I am becoming less of a fan of this circus, the more it goes on.

I wonder how many Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders or Rajasthan Royals fans there are in South Africa?
